PrideInn Plaza Nairobi Airport — Hotel in Matathani ward

I visited the restaurant on 4th floor of Signature Mall along Mombasa Rd on 30th of June, 2022. I did not however look at the the rooms then. I visited again on Friday July 16th 2022 and I had the chance see the rooms. I was informed that there were four categories of rooms depending on size and the amenities that come with the rooms. I saw the standard (lowest category) of rooms whose pictures I have shared as part of this review.

My impression:

The staff are courteous, friendly, helpful and easy to chat with; makes one feel valued and at home. The ambience is nice and cool, a good choice of paintings on the corridor walls. Very clean everywhere.The Reception is specious and welcoming but a little small for a hotel of its size and standards. The room I saw was very beautiful, large, clean, smelled fresh and inviting. Impressive really!. I wondered how the next higher level of rooms and the levels above those ones would be if the one I saw is a "standard room"? Alas small heavens?

I have been to this restaurant several times before and the experience has been the same; nice service, clean, friendly, polite and efficient staff. Not to mention the truly nice foods.

The following part is a review of the restaurant which I did three weeks ago on 30th of June when my wife brought me here for my birthday....

The restaurant is spacious, and always comfortably set. My last visit was the first after the hotel was taken over by the Pride Inn chain of hotels and there was a remarkable difference; the tables were beautifully covered in floor-length maroon table clothes and set with neatly arranged cutlery and napkins. My initial thought was that the dinning hall had been arranged for a party but no, I was informed that this was just the new standards. Nice surprise.

And it was also nice to know that all staff had been retained.

Bravo Pride Inn and congratulations Azure...

Had the pleasure of unwillingly having to spend 2 days here due to flight complications with Kenya Airways.

The checkin was quick and efficient checking in a large group at the witching hour. Our terrible experience with Kenya airways pleasantly changed at PrideInn.

They staff were friendly helpful and accomdative. Had a quick meal at 4 in the morning and retired to comfortable and spacious rooms with all the modern ammenties one would expect from a hotel.

The food and beverage service from the restaurant was wonderful, staff were ever attentive and service was effecient. The breakfast buffet was impressive due to a conference happening when we arrived and the lunch and dinner service was equally satifisying, with menu items being impressivelt appetizing and well portioned, with starter meals being equal to full size portions. Compliments to the chefs for flavour and freshness of the ingredients of the dishes i had the pleasure of trying out during my stay.

The gym was a bit to basic, would have preferred it be a little better at least there was a gym to have a workout. Please consider the addition of airconditioning in the gym.

The location is close to airport. But we had a very disappointing stay as the first night we received a room which had a lot of smell and wasnt renovated. We compromised as we had to leave for Safari the next morning. Returning from Safari we were provided with a renovated room but the AC was not working. We asked assistance at around 5 in the evening and until 6 they said it was repaired. We left to have dinner. Once we were back we realised the AC wasn"t functioning properly so we asked to switch the room. With alot of argument we were provided with another room however when we went to the other room it was with 2 singles beds for a family of 4. Extremely dissappointed we complained again and we were provided with a third room again which was smelling bad and not renovated. This whole shifting of rooms took around 2 to 3 hours for us in between moving stuff, lossing my daughters pulover in 1 of the rooms, costing us our sleep as we had a flight next morning.
