Lanet Matfam Resort — Hotel in Menengai ward

The Matfam resort was okay to stay at for one night but I wouldn’t want to stay for long. The courtyard is very pretty so we thought it would be quite a nice little place but we were sadly disappointed when we went upstairs and saw the rooms. The hallways and rooms seem like an afterthought. The lighting is poor and the decor is old and dirty. When we went to our room, it was super small and dirty. There were windows into the bathroom from the main area so you could see directly into the shower and the toilet. The bedding was stained and the pillow cases had dirt and other stuff on them. The lighting was pretty poor in the bathroom and the shower was lukewarm at best. The beds were comfortable though and I had a decent sleep other than someone rattling the room door at 2:00am. |The food was pretty good other the coffee which was just an instant coffee satchet but the service was hit or miss. We had a lovely lady serve us breakfast but the lady who served us lunch didn’t seem to care about serving us. She brought us cider when we ordered beer and kept forgetting that we were there. |Overall the place was alright for a one night stay but I wouldn’t be going back or recommending here unless you are just going for the day and not...

Horrible place, shower had been pulled out of the wall and when shown to the receptionist shrugged and walked off for 20 mins. This was quite late and we were eventually placed in the VIP suite......Ha! single fluorescent light and needed factor 50 sunscreen with no air conditioning.||Food (oxymoron for the day) was disgusting , dried chicken bones a bowl of soup and a stale bread roll. ||Plenty of complaints and the hotel manager came to talk and said that the hotel was expanding to be a 200 room conference base. (FFS)...sorry about that but get your basics right first. Didn't even bother with breakfast next morning just happy to see the back of the place. Oh, the shower was cold in the VIP suite too.||Yet the previous nights under canvas there had been good food, hot showers and flushing toilets.oh and as for a bar, if a warm beer is wanted, fine. Wine and spirits one had to purchase a bottle.......needless to say we didn't. ||This hotel owner just has not got a clue. ||If it can be managed in an eco camp on the Massai Mara, then it shouldn't be beyond the bounds of possibility to succeed in some small way in a 'modern' hotel.||The safari operator will be appraised...

The hotel is fine, but i did not get a pleasant customer service.. i do not nomally write reviews, but i will tell why am writing this..

I took my family for swimming and dinner we were waiting to pay for swimming in the line, no one bothered to help us. There were two men inside the cashier window and two girls on the window talking...... so i asked them if they can help us and the girls roll their eyes and left... the gent told us to wait few minutes. We waited and waited.... a white guy came in and the girls run to help them, " sir .... sir welcome how can we help.... bla bla bla bla...... I was ready to leave but my family insisted just to try on food.

Customer service is good for all, i'm treated very well oversees than home.. it was sad for me... I'm sure the hotel is better than the few individuals employees who...
