Nokras Riverine Hotel & Spa — Hotel in Murang'a County

While on vacation in Kenya, I decided to visit this established that I heard great things about.

After placing my order, i opted to take a walk to the river - throw the gates marked "sports bar" for pictures and as soon as I made it to the path the beverage manager Mr thige whom was walking from the opposite direction accompanied by another "gentleman", Mr. Thige stopped me and rudely scolded me starting that I needed escort to the "sports bar" due to damages that other clients had previously caused, interestingly "unescorted" female customers were walking in and out of the same establishment I was stopped from going.

Mr thige's approach was rude and ego based and humiliating at best, for someone in the hospitality industry during low season, your least concern should be fear of a patron "damaging" your premises based on their hairstyle and dress code. Paying customers do not need to be discriminated against based on outward appearance.

The Service was slow (waited 30 minutes for fresh squeeze juice) and they lacked ingredients to cater to the order. And the Customer service is dismal at best. Don't put all your money on infrastructure and have mediocre hospitality and food, train your staff or hire qualified personnel/management.

As far as escortes / chaperones goes ; Invest in a sign that say.

The good first. The staff are incredibly friendly and cannot do enough for you. Thank you! The food was plentiful and delicious. Thanks for that as well. Beds were comfortable.

Then the not so good. The rooms are run down. Simple things like toilet seats that don't match the toilet, no bedside lights.

Then the bad. Block C is noisy. I was woken a few times on multiple nights by on going noise from guests. I assume they were guests. The hotel needs to be aware of this and implement a solution, even if it is simply empowering guard staff to request guests to be quiet. The internet access was shocking. Multiple networks with different passwords, requiring multiple signins. No seamless connectivity throughout. And when you did access a network the speed was dismal. If you are looking at attracting business clients who increasingly are working virtually, this weakness needs...
