A family overnight getaway that was completely 🚮. What a waste of money! We arrived late in the evening because of the heavy rains. Checked in our room and went downstairs for dinner. The menu was vey vast and inviting but the food was horrible! I had ordered pasta for the kids and luckily i tasted first before feeding them. The cream used was definitely off, i literally felt nauseated. You can guess how the rest of our order ended up! The first red flag, we were the only ones in the dining. The staff was less bothered.. from the waitress to the manager who never for a single moment during our stay asked if we were okay or what was wrong with the food. We had to go out to look for a decent dinner, which on coming back, the manager had the audacity to send the waiter with the food we barely touched with a receipt demanding pay.
Onto the next morning, the kids were excited to explore the small waterpark and to our dismay, the water was literally deep yellow! We decided to give it a go, i literally felt so slimy walking in the water, asking the pool guard, he tells me its the weather that has made the water be like that! Truth be told, no water treatment had been done for days, or even months! one could literally see the algae on the sides.
Still, the manager or his employees never approached us to ask if we were comfortable. I met a family literally walk away with a screaming child after looking at the pool. Cherry on the cake, we were forced to pay for the dinner we never ate. I wish i took photos to accompany this.....
Read moreIvory Park Hotel is a hidden gem in Nakuru, located in a quiet area just a few minutes away from the Lake Nakuru National Park main gate.
We spent two comfortable nights in April 2024.
Well kept Rooms - modern, very clean, good quality bedding and linens, air conditioning, coffee station, huge tv with Netflix, hot showers.
Restaurant and meals - Very good chef, meals well catered for and generous portions. Very accomodating to young children
Staff - exceptional service, making guests feel well taken care of.
Amenities - highlight of the hotel is the amazing aqua park and its water slides. Children will not want to leave the pool.
They offer game drives to the nearby National Park, which is worth the visit due to the abundance of wild animals. We saw lions, rhinos, flamingos, hyenas, giraffes and much more.
Overall, this is a great boutique hotel, for business or leisure, or a stopover if you're just passing through Nakuru. Value for money especially for those...
Read moreHorrible experience at the so called water park. The water looked like it came right out of the sewer. The slides are broken, they all have gaps in the joints and it SCRATCHES YOUR BACK while sliding down.
There are steps after every slide that are hidden in the water and you are guaranteed to either stub your toe or fall and BREAK A BONE like in my case.
All in a all it's a complete waste of money and more importantly dangerous.
If you love your kids Please Please DO NOT GO THERE
The water was filled with DEAD...
