An Unforgettable Stay at Pearl Mara, Masai Mara — Like a Home Away from Home
I honestly don’t even know where to begin — everything about Pearl Mara felt like home to us. From the moment we arrived until the day we (reluctantly) left, it was pure perfection. If we had the choice, we truly wouldn’t have wanted to leave.
Our incredible guide, Saitoti, was with us for four unforgettable days. His knowledge, experience, and dedication made every game drive extraordinary. He went above and beyond to ensure we saw the Big Five — and we did, all thanks to him! Always accommodating and patient, he made sure our drives were comfortable, exciting, and tailored to us. We’re genuinely so grateful for his guidance and warm spirit.
The lodge team — Maria, Christine, and Stella — were just as amazing. Always smiling, cheerful, and full of energy, they made sure we were well-fed and happy from morning to night. Whether it was packing snacks for game drives, preparing our favorite drinks, or simply checking in on us, they made everything feel so personal and thoughtful. Our kids absolutely adored them — especially Maria! My daughter even wanted to stay back with her 😄
And let’s talk about the food — absolute chef’s kiss! Every meal was delicious, and the desserts were light, refreshing, and irresistible. I definitely left with a few extra happy kilos. Plus, everything was 100% halal, which gave us complete peace of mind.
We stayed at the Caesar’s Lodge, and it was stunning. Beautifully decorated, cozy, and with a million-dollar view right from our room — waking up to that scenery was like a dream.
A special shout-out to Benjamin, who made our stay even more comfortable. From preparing cozy hot water bags each night to making sure the kids' beds and ours were perfect, he always took care of the little things that made a big difference. Truly thoughtful and attentive.
There’s just so much more I could say — but in short, Pearl Mara is one of those rare places you instantly fall in love with and never want to leave. It’s not just a lodge, it’s a feeling — of warmth, care, and genuine connection. We left with full hearts, amazing memories, and a...
Read moreI recently had the chance to stay at Pearl Mara and I can genuinely say it was one of the most special experiences of my life. I stayed in their luxurious villa which came with a private jacuzzi and waking up to those sweeping views of the Mara while soaking in warm water felt like a dream. The villa itself was beautifully designed with warm wood interiors and large glass windows that opened up to the landscape. It felt private, peaceful and incredibly comfortable.
Every little detail was taken care of. The bed was soft and inviting, the linens smelled fresh, and the bathroom was modern with everything I could possibly need. But what truly made this stay stand out was the way the staff made me feel. Every person I interacted with was warm, genuine and thoughtful. They remembered my preferences, always asked how my day was going, and went out of their way to make me feel at home.
The food was another highlight. Whether it was breakfast with fresh fruit and strong Kenyan coffee or dinner under the stars, every meal felt like an experience in itself. One night they served a lamb stew inspired by Maasai flavors and it’s something I’ll remember for a long time. There was such a feeling of calm and beauty in the way everything was done.
I also did a few game drives during my stay and the guides were incredible. They knew the land like the back of their hand and somehow spotted animals that I never would have noticed. Seeing lions up close, elephants with their young, even cheetahs lounging in the grass felt surreal. And then coming back to a villa with a jacuzzi waiting for me made it even more magical.
Evenings were my favorite time. I would sit on the deck with a glass of wine, listening to the sounds of nature all around me. There were no distractions. Just the stars above, the soft rustle of the wind and the gentle hum of the wild. It made me feel so connected to the land and to myself.
Pearl Mara is intimate, raw and deeply beautiful. If you’re someone who values both comfort and authenticity this place is the perfect blend of both.
I left feeling rested, grounded and honestly a little emotional. I can’t wait...
Read moreWe stayed at Pearl Mara for two nights at the end of September to celebrate a milestone birthday, and it was such a special experience. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel incredibly welcome with local music and warm smiles. The lodge feels intimate and exclusive — beautifully designed, spotless, and wonderfully peaceful.
Check-in was smooth, and we appreciated meeting the manager, chef, and driver straight away to go through our preferences. Every member of the team was kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay perfect. A special mention to Maria, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
Our suite was spacious and elegant, with 24-hour hot water and in-room dining. We were amazed at how clean it was — not a single insect inside, which is remarkable considering the wild surroundings. The private heated pool was a lovely feature, though the water could have been a bit clearer.
The game drives were comfortable, with new vehicles stocked with snacks and drinks. Our guide Saito was friendly and ensured we saw some beautiful animals, but at times the drives felt a bit rushed to return to the lodge, and he didn’t seem to have much knowledge of where to find the key animals. With a little more focus and insight, the experience could have been even more rewarding.
The bush breakfast, property tour, and garden breakfast with Maasai Mara dancers were true highlights — beautifully organised and full of local charm. The food throughout was very good, especially the soups, and we loved that most ingredients were locally grown or sourced. A touch more local flavour would make it outstanding.
We also enjoyed an in-room massage, which was relaxing and well done, though it felt a little rushed toward the end.
Overall, Pearl Mara offers a warm, personal, and memorable stay. With a little extra polish in guiding and dining, it could easily be one of the best lodges in the region. We left feeling relaxed, celebrated, and grateful — a truly...
