Our stay at Ole Samara flew by. We arrived and were blown away by the property's landscaping. Then we saw our room and we're blown away by it and what it came with - Each room has a special touch. We stayed in Fuschia and loved the available kitchen and outdoor living room with a romantic fireplace setting. The compound is set up such that each guest has privacy and serenity. The provided toiletries are luxuriously scented, the pool bag such a lovely touch and the fresh flowers thoughtful. Their is attention to detail in everything including the breakfast. The spreads, granola and Joghurt were high quality organic products, the wholemeal bread was home made and the pancakes were good. On realizing they only had french press coffee (we love our morning capuccinos) we opted for Kenyan tea which the chef brewed extra to our exact taste. All this combined with the friendly welcoming and helpful staff (Tony and Jenny) made our stay in Nanyuki amazing. We are extra thankful that Tony organised a great guide for a day trip to Mount Kenya for us at such short notice. After which a dip in the pool to unwind was the perfect end to an active day. While there in August the pool unfortunately wasn't heated. It gets windy so a quick dip suffices. The property also has a lovely nature walk that passes a bubbling river. Along the way there are some benches where one can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature.
All in all - if looking for a serene, secluded nature haven with amazing service look...
Read moreOle Samara is a place I’d definitely go back to again. We stayed at the Fuschia cottage which had a well spacious room for 2,bathroom and toilet were clean and well arranged. The toiletries were well stocked. The cottage came with a separate kitchen with all the main appliances needed, and a terrace with a fireplace, lounge seats and beautiful views of their well kept gardens and you can catch the sunset very well from here. They also have a restaurant and bar(not so well stocked so carry your own drinks),plus a swimming pool with a stunning view of the valley. The host Betty made sure we were well taken care of and the staff is friendly, additionally they have security at the compound for night hours. We had a beautiful stay with my husband,it was one night but would definitely want to go back and spend more days here. If you need a nice intimate, comfortable stay and within a good price range in Nanyuki, this is where to go. It is kid friendly(sand pit and lawn where children can play)Also, their is the trout tree restaurant next door so you can always pop out and have a different scenery altogether. Nanyuki town is 15mins from the property, therefore you can easily dash back and forth for anything you might need in town. Highly...

I never post negative reviews, but Ole Samara has been shockingly unprofessional and uncompromising. Despite having a confirmed booking for our upcoming family trip to Nanyuki, they called to inform me they had double-booked it on Booking.com — this was a day after I had confirmed with them directly over the phone and WhatsApp, which they denied we had done. Instead of taking responsibility and canceling the other reservation, they refused, clearly to avoid penalties on the Booking.com platform, as it was easier to cancel our booking clearly.
Betty the owner offered us an extra day for free, but since we had already booked for New Year’s Eve, this was hardly sufficient. I believe it’s essential to act with integrity, especially when it comes to irreplaceable moments like a special day. Rather than opting for the easiest solution, it’s important to do what’s right.
Now, with New Year’s peak season upon us, we’re left without a place to stay due to their mistake. If you’re considering booking with them, be warned — their mismanagement and lack of integrity could ruin your...
