We would have never known this place if not for Dunken the last minute plan to come as we had reached Naro Moru very late the day we were to start . Its not just a great place to unwind its a school of indegenuous species if one wishes to sit back and admire the sheer beauty of nature THIS IS THE PLACE ! I would vouch for anyone and everyone that this place is worth it . The owner of the property hosted us and checked on us quite well. We were welcomed warmly. How often to get to simply relax and live in a bubble like reality doesn't exist? If that's the kind of experience you want then search no more. This is heaven on earth, full of nature, the best hospitality , there's good WiFi so you can work and a place I'm definitely looking forward to venturing again and again. It's home away from home... In case you are looking for a calm and lovely place near Mount Kenya, I really recommend Podocarpus cottages! Michael is a super host and does everything to make you feel at home. Even tho it was very rainy, he made sure that we enjoyed our time. He’s a real nature lover and he told us everything about Mount Kenya, trees, plants and animals. He even brought us to meet his lovely family. We hope to visit him again very soon!

"I and my besties recently had the pleasure of staying at Podocarpus Cottages and I must say, it exceeded all our expectations. The hospitality extended by the staff and the owner of the property was exceptional, from the warm welcome upon arrival to the attentive service throughout my stay. The cottages themselves were cozy and well-maintained, providing a comfortable retreat amidst the stunning natural surroundings. I got an opportunity to learn more about nature different species of trees also visit Mt Kenya Forest. When you need a place to get away from the harried vibe of the city. This place is the go-to place. Its set in the countryside complete with views of Mt Kenya. If you are into country living. You are home here. Food is fresh, air is crisp. Air is filled with the sounds of birds and crickets. It gets chilly at night. So carry warm clothing to layer up. The rooms are made from mud and plastered, complete with a grass thatch roof. Roads are passable, but an off road car is highly recommended.
