The treetops Lodge has always been in my bucket list.Nature lovers ,I highly recommend this place. The surroundings are stunning, with lush forest all around, and the view from the platform across the water-hole and salt lick was brilliant. The staff were super friendly especially Moses was very helpful.I had called him prior to our visit and he went out of his way to make us feel that we were in the right place. The food, its more than made up in both quality and quantity - we then went for a nature walk with Mathenge and the views were simply amazing. If you need a place to get away from it all, this is it. There is Wi-Fi but you can still choose no phone distractions and you can recharge and re-energise at your own pace….a wonderful feeling. This is a place I will visit again and again ♥️

We had a wonderful time at treetops lodge! From the first moment we arrived we had such a warm welcome. Everybody was so friendly and helpful! We had a great driver Francis that took us on 2 drives in 2 different parks! We got to see lions, so many rhinos and much more he was so knowledgeable and attentive! At breakfast, lunch and dinner Susan made sure we always had what we needed! The entire service was wonderful and the food was great too (I’m gluten free) and I always found something to eat! They even gave me a little birthday show after dinner! Over night we got to see multiple elephants drinking from the water hole as well as so many buffalos! I would recommend everyone to stay here it was such an unexpected overly pleasant stay!

Unforgettable stay, with sunset lots of animals come to the lodge in search for salt which the staff plants in front of the lodge. We witnessed in total 18 elephants, two rhinos, a few hyenas and lots of buffalos in one night. The ambience reminding of past century travelers is also unique. But do not expect anything outstanding from the menu there. Coffee is good though.

It’s genuinely heartbreaking to see such an iconic place like Treetops reduced to this level of mediocrity. Luckily, I wasn’t staying the night — I only came for lunch, and even that was more than enough to know I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the service team was undertrained and disengaged. Our waiter couldn’t even tell whether the wine I ordered was red or white. The wine list itself is poorly curated — the design is confusing and the selection is below average at best.

Lunch took an eternity to arrive. And when it finally did, it was beyond disappointing. I ordered the pork chops, which were so overcooked and dry I genuinely struggled to chew through them. It felt like the chef just grabbed random ingredients and threw together a marinade with zero thought or care. As for the “apple sauce” the menu promised — what arrived was a cloying, unidentifiable brown mess that had no place on the plate, let alone in a dish meant to complement pork.

The whole experience felt like a careless afterthought — as if Treetops is now just riding on its past glory, without the effort or heart to maintain any sense of quality.

Please fix the noisy fridge at the bar.

Management needs to wake up. A place with this much history deserves better. I strongly urge a complete overhaul of the kitchen team, a serious investment in staff training, and a reevaluation of the menu and wine list. Until then, Treetops is just a sad shadow of what...

Easily the most hideous building in kenya. The lodge is living completely In the past and endlessly tells visitors about how Princess Elizabeth became Queen while she was at Treetops simply because her father died while she was staying at the lodge.

Rooms are small and not easy to move about in - one keeps tripping on something or the other. There are two viewing areas, one covered and one open. Animals which visit are buffalos and elephants and a few birds and antelopes. Rhinos and leopards are rare. The water hole at the lodge is a bit sad devoid of beauty.

There is not much else to do at the Lodge - even walking around within the lodge is prohibited unless you hire an armed guard who charges a thousand KES. The walk is rather sad and follows the perimeter of the Lodge with nothing to see. My guide stopped twice to point out two plants and two birds. The one hour walk was over in 35 minutes.

There is no Library except a collection of guest comments and there are no games.

The dining room is nice and the food is good. Staff are nice.

The lodge can become better if the management becomes forward looking and stops...

I made a return to this lodge after 15+ years and was pleasantly surprised by the updates that have since been made. Last i visited the rooms were teeny-tiny cabins with shared bathrooms at the end of the hall but that is now in the past as each room is en-suite and slightly airy. I love the fact that a lot of the history and heritage of this lodge has been maintained, even the old tradition of keeping the buzzer in your room on incase there are some interesting animal sightings, still happens. It still gives that "one with nature" feel with the watering hole right there. It was our lucky day as we had some ellies come visiting alongside the usual suspects i.e. buffalos and waterbucks. I also got a glimpse of the black rhino in the dead of night. It ticks all the right boxes for a quick weekend getaway, and always a great addition to the safari circuit.||Oh the food.....just there! dunno, it didn't hit any notes but it can pass. I'd still recommend this...
