We had a great stay at firefly. We stayed in the boat tent and it was beautiful. Very clean and the bed was comfortable. Highly recommend it for the views and the sunsets! (Sunset at low tide in my pictures) We had most of our meals at the restaurant in firefly and they were all wonderful. The chef, Dinah is very talented and there are many vegetarian options to choose from. She was also very careful with my allergies. The restaurant is a lovely place to hang out and watch the sea. Hamis made sure we had everything we needed and was always very helpful. All the staff was great and made us feel at home. We had an amazing day out in the Pilli Pipa boats at the Kisite Marine Park. I can’t recommend it enough! The crew is really nice. It’s the perfect place for snorkeling. I went diving with them twice and it was the best experience ever. Ben, our dive master was great. He showed us loads of different fish. It was a beautiful dive. Special thanks to Yatin from Pilli Pipa for organising the dives. We were very lucky and saw dolphins and sea turtles! Firefly is walking distance from Shimoni village which is worth a visit. Especially on market day on fridays. We really loved our stay in Firefly and hopefully we’ll be back!

I was in shimoni in kwale and this place I must admit it one of the best places I ever slept , well it's Eco friendly though not entirely. The hotel is at the edge of the cliff and has amazing views of indian ocean . The waves are just so good at night. The swimming pool is really nice and deep. The hotel is also inside the forest but easy to find . The customer service is great. I liked the fact that you have a chance to meet other guest over dinner . The food portion is small though, and prices are abit up . If you are in south coast and looking for an eco retreat place I would really recommend this place it's very peaceful. We had initially planned to stay for a night but we ended up staying another night and was quite refreshing. Also they organize trips to Pemba and other island near shimoni . We slept in the main house and the other guest said the tents were equally good.

Great place and location. Right beside Pilli Pippa dive centre which we went on a dhow boat day trip - diving, snorkeling and lunch included. All the staff on the boat, at lunch and Yatin who organised everything were fantastic. At Firefly there is plenty of space, seating areas, toilets, showers, etc. And the place is kept clean and tidy. We stayed in the dhow boat room - a bit cramped but great views. A highlight was the food. We had breakfast every day, and lunch and dinner most days. All fresh, cooked perfectly and great flavours. Dinah, the chef, was very accommodating to our preferences, as well as always up for a good chat and laugh. Hamis provided great service every day, was super helpful and also very friendly. Really recommend a stay here. Super idyllic. (they could just do with some speakers for a little music at the bar/restaurant area!)

Wasini Lookout is a beautiful serene jewel south of Diani Beach, My girlfriend and I spent 3 days at Wasini Lookout, The Whole idea was to spend a night at Either Wasini Island or Shimoni because of our Snorkeling excursion at Kisite Marine Park, We wanted to have a laid down experience and make the most out of the locality, Not the normal rushed tour bearing in mind the return journey from Diani beach, We looked up on Booking.com and Wasini Lookout came with some competitive rates, Checked up on Google Map and got their contacts, Calling Jacob was Easy and everything else fell into place, We checked in at the Eco-Camp after the morning Excursion snorkeling at the Marine Park, We had a Nice Swahili Fish and Coconut rice lunch, The Food, the Beauty of the Camp, and Ambience of the Tent prompted us to book an extra night at the Camp site, We lodged at the front tents by the ocean overlooking the Wasini Island with a Private partio extending to the Sea, We had some great Sunset moments by the deck in front of our Tent, the Tent is Spacious and Luxurious, Im a beer drinker while on Holiday so our Fridge was stocked with beers throughout our stay, You literary get woken up by the roaring of the Ocean waves hitting the creek, Managed to catch a squid on our last Morning at the Partio, we gave it to Patric the Chef, By the Way all credits to Patric, he doubled as the Chef and the jack of all trades, very friendly chap, full of energy, his meals are out of this world, He would give us suggestion and options of the meals he wanted us to try from Fish, Calamari, Chicken, Light lunch some sort of a veggy Wrap, and the Kingly English breakfast with a Twist of the Costal or oriental vibe, the Owners dogs are very friendly and disciplined ,Zeus was my homeboy the attention seeker||The Washrooms and Bathrooms are communal, about 10 yards from the Tent, very clean and eco-friendly, everything about the Camp is eco-friendly, very well kept, blending well with the forest, First class service with TLC, We highly recommend Wasini Lookout to anyone going for snorkeling or...

A hidden gem in a lovely location.

We stayed in the Bottle Cottege which was great, a lot bigger than expected and very clean. It was really tranquil as you wake up to the sound of the sea and nearby animals. It has everything you need, a large water dispenser, fridge, fans and mosquito nets. The pool is huge and picturesque as it is set in its natural surroundings.

You have to order ahead for food but the menu has lots of options and it is all really tasty.

The location is excellent as you can walk into Shimoni and you are next to Pilli Pipa if you choose to go on a day trip.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and Jacob arranged two excellent day trips for us where we went snorkelling and also to Funzi island where we got to meet the locals and explore their beautiful island.

Highly recommend if you want somewhere off the beaten path and peaceful

The resort also donates part of your payment to reefstoration, a project to restore the coral...
