This property has so much promise, but it disappointed on so many levels that we actually checked out early. The grounds are stunning, and the people are kind and welcoming. But attention to detail was just lacking.||||We were two women traveling to Kenya on a ministry trip. We were shocked when we arrived at the property and learned that there was no wifi, and no telephone. Absolutely no way to get in touch with our family or our host in case of emergency. That felt very isolating. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the manager who told us that she lived on the property and to let her know if we needed anything... but we didn't know how to find her.||||Our room was lovely - it was set up with several bedrooms off a shared kitchen and gathering area. However, the beds were horribly uncomfortable - they dipped noticeably in the middle. We had no hot water for the duration of our stay, and the shower only ran as a dribble. We never took true showers while we were there, and ended up washing our hair (in cold water) in the kitchen sink. ||||Meals were included in our room price. We were asked each day what we wanted for dinner that night, but were never shown a menu of options. When asked what our options were, the answer was "chicken or beef." This must be a cultural difference, since the same scenario played out at another hotel. ||||One morning we awoke to no electricity. Nobody was in the office for us to report it to. The server in the restaurant said they knew the power was out, and that they would turn on a generator if it hadn't been restored by evening. That didn't help us get ready that morning!||||The straw that broke the camel's back for us was a frog in the toilet. This, on top of an infestation of ants in the kitchen and bathroom, was just too unsettling. ||||This is a really lovely property, with many unique amenities. But I would hesitate to stay here again due to the lack of attention to so...
Read moreArrived just before the rain and quickly set up the tents in a lovely grassy area of the lodge, near where the vehicles parked and mess tent was. ||||There is a to a superb and clean swimming pool, even warmish, and the changing rooms, showers and loos, used by campers, were great. I have no idea what the rooms are like but having read the other reviews, I do wonder just what it is that modern travelers expect from these quasi tourist "bush" lodges. For me, a clean room, a comfortable bed, basic food , and I'm there. WE had a bonus here - a swimming pool! and beautiful quite surroundings!. AND in my own tent ||||To me, If you want / need WiFi, TV, etc - STAY in the city!!, you don't belong in the wilds of Africa . Oh yes, one other thing - IF you must keep in contact with all and sundry, get a thing called a CELL PHONE - Kenya has a superb network, and you can even buy something called DATA - I'm told you might even be able to send everybody back home "selfies" of you roughing it in "THE BUSH".||||||Staff were helpful, there is nice bar, and even electricity that evening. If I were to criticize anything it might be the cost for the camping. At 1200/= pp it's higher than many other sites else where in Kenya. ( Except National Park sites which I...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Masai Eco Lodge, and it was an unforgettable experience! Set in a tranquil natural environment, the lodge offers a perfect blend of eco-friendly design and Maasai cultural charm. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
One of the highlights of my stay was the beautiful outdoor swimming pool, which provided a refreshing escape after a day of exploring. The pool area is surrounded by lush greenery, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to assist and share fascinating insights into the local Maasai culture.
The lodge’s commitment to sustainability shines through with solar energy, water conservation efforts, and the use of locally sourced materials. I also enjoyed taking part in a guided nature walk and learning more about the Maasai community's unique way of life.
