10/10 would recommend. Didn’t expect to find this kind of accommodation in the midst of remote area like this. This place and its facilities allowed me to be fully recharged after an exhausting trip (+ the heat!) from Nairobi - Masai Mara and after a long safari day trip.

Room: Large with glass wall with forest view, healing sound of birds and crickets, balcony with clothes drying rack, mosquito net that lets the cool air inside without allowing insects in. They provide fan and desk lamp. You can hear your neighbour’s talking, showering and flushing toilet but luckily not very often.

Wifi: Doesn’t reach the rooms, I can only access it from the reception but also has unstable connection. The wifi in the restaurant doesn’t work. On the bright side, once I get in my room I can fully disconnect and reconnect with nature.

Bathroom: Wooden floor, glass door, hot shower, hair dryer, nice smelled soap and shampoo, clean white towel. The bathroom lamps equipped with sensors that goes on and off like it doesn’t know I’m still there so I had to make movement once in a while, a bit annoying but I got used to it.

Provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner: Different menu everyday. Plenty of options from vegs to meats. My favourite was the shredded chicken curry, beef stew, banana curry, potato leek soup. Omelette station in the morning, salad bar and indian dishes for dinner. To be fair, not every dishes is perfect - some dishes are too salty and some others plain; and their baked goods from bread to cakes could be very dry. I hope they can improve but other than that, I like the whole experience. The chef would come out to greet you and explain about the dishes if you ask. I talked with one chef and we just had a nice conversation about how we cook bananas differently. Well I also had some weird experience where they try to be near me all the time and pick up my plates even when I’m not done yet. So a bit pressured sometimes but I think they didn’t meant to be rude.

Facilities: Amazing, I swimmed in the pool after a very hot day of a safari and it was super refreshing - unfortunately the pool was dirty and the chlorine was abit excessive I wouldn’t stay too long. I saw people who come in groups playing billiard and table tennis. There is gym if you want to burn all the calories from the excessive meals you just had. There’s a garden seatings for you to chill with your beers from the restaurant.

The people were nice, always asking how are you, how was your safari trip and greet you hello, good morning and good night. Small things that matters.

Overall, I really like this lodge - almost feel like a resort - I didn’t mind exchanging the Masai Village visit my tour offered me to slowly sipping tea in the balcony in the...

We went on a two-night safari escapade with my family, we chose Jambo Mara Lodge as our sanctuary amidst the wild beauty of the Maasai Mara. Approaching our stay with a hint of apprehension due to mixed reviews, our experience turned out to be exceptionally delightful, surpassing all our expectations.

A Sanctuary of Modernity in the Wild

Our lodging at Jambo Mara was a contemporary haven, meticulously clean and stylishly designed. The unique charm of staying in a predominantly glass room offered us an immersive nature experience without compromising our privacy. Essential amenities like round-the-clock electricity and consistent hot water access further enhanced our comfort, ensuring a hassle-free stay in the heart of the wilderness.

Exemplary Hospitality That Felt Like Home

The warmth and professionalism of the Jambo Mara staff were the highlights of our visit. Every team member, particularly in the dining area, was approachable, attentive, and dedicated to making our stay memorable. Their genuine care and assistance added a personal touch to our safari adventure, making us feel welcomed and valued.

A Culinary Journey to Savor

Dining at Jambo Mara Lodge was a delightful surprise, a true feast for the senses. The variety and quality of the food exceeded our expectations, catering to a diverse palate with options for both vegetarians and meat enthusiasts. The desserts were a particular delight, offering a sweet end to our meals. Fresh fruit was a constant, adding a refreshing touch to our dining experience. While the packed lunch for our safari adventures didn't quite match up to the lodge's buffet standards, it was a minor aspect in the grand scheme of our gastronomic journey.

Final Thoughts: A Family Retreat Worth Experiencing

Our stay at Jambo Mara Lodge was a testament to the lodge's commitment to excellence in hospitality, cleanliness, and dining. It was a retreat that not only connected us with the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife of the Maasai Mara but also provided a comforting and luxurious respite after our day-long adventures. Despite initial reservations based on past reviews, Jambo Mara Lodge proved to be a delightful surprise, offering a memorable safari experience that I would wholeheartedly recommend to any family seeking adventure and comfort in...

I stayed in the glass cottage. They have one the worst service and rude staff. Their rooms are beautiful and clean but not worth the 400 to 500 USD per night price as they do not provide wifĺ, no AC , also no basic necessity like bathroom slippers. The sink was a disaster the water wouldn't pass after using it was clogged upon requesting to.fix no one arrived and was left that way for my entire stay. And their rooms don't have phones to report anything to the reception or house keeping, you need to walk all the way to the reception yet no one cares the last at the reception was super grumpy and cared less about any requests.

I was about to get seated at the restaurant for dinner and the restaurant staff asked me to sit at the back table as I am a single person and these tables were for families. While 20+ of their tables were empty and hardly and people. Also I am as much guest at the hotel as the families are and this is not acceptable. When I expressed the staff started to argue with me I just lost interest to have dinner.

Half the equipments in their gym don't work.

While checking I had requested to pack my breakfast as I was leaving early and they mentioned that should not be a problem as they do it to their customers all the time. However while checking out there was no one awake at the reception and the guard mentioned to handover the keys to him as no one is available at the reception as they are all sleeping and no breakfast was kept ready for me to take. So I'm not sure what they charged me 460 USD per night for?

I don't recommend this place to anyone I know or would...

Be careful with that hotel! They charge you on arrival and what you pay for is not what you get. Our experience was terrible: 1. The room was not clean, there was hair everywhere even inside the bed. Shower had no shower gel, we had to ask a couple of days to get some. The room has no heating or A/C. A lot of issues that don't reflect a 5 star hotel... 2. The worst was the food and the restaurant, buffet with little choice of food, the waiter told us to go get food or we wouldn't have any left. 3. We ordered a packed lunch and it was a disgrace, please see photo of what they call a burger, speechless. After complaining the first day, we still got the same the day after. 4. They were overstaffed but completely inefficient. For example, they didn't know what they were serving. My wife is allergic to beef and they told her the sausages were made of chicken. Then the supervisor confirmed it was beef and she already ate some, causing some indigestion. Her allergy is mild but if you have a severe food allergy don't come here. 5. To compensate they invited us to a couple of beers but we asked to speak with the manager several times to get a proper solution, the manager never showed up, we are still trying to get a refund.
