Mara Explorer Tented Camp — Hotel in Siana ward

It was our 10th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special to celebrate it and that’s when we decided to go on our first African safari experience. We watched a lot of videos on Youtube and finally decided on the Mara Explorer Camp. We tried booking the dates on various travel booking websites, but couldn’t get the dates we wanted, so took a chance to write to Mara Explorer Camp. They were able to accommodate us for the dates we wanted in August and the whole booking experience was seamless. We spent 3 nights/4 days at the Mara Explorer Camp in August’23 and it was a wonderful experience (it’s an adult only camp and limited tents so gets booked quick). Right from our arrival till our last day we were made to feel special and were looked after very well. The team at the camp comprising of Joshua, Mary, Joseph, the Chef and our driver/guide, Simon were all so knowledgeable and caring. They took every effort to make our anniversary day special, right from a surprise sundowner to an anniversary cake to a Masai dance and decorating our tent on our anniversary! All our meals were very delicious during the entire course of our stay – including the bush dinner. The facilities were near flawless – laundry, security, food, preparing our beds & camp, game drives just about everything. I highly recommend this camp if you were planning to go to Masai Mara and yes, don’t forget to ask for Simon as your driver/guide. If you're looking for a perfect safari vacation, look no further than the Mara Explorer. While there are a lot of options out there in the Masai Mara, I can't imagine making a better chose than going with Mara Explorer. This was a perfect, luxurious boutique hotel in the middle of nowhere!

From the very beginning, right until the end, everything was an absolutely stellar experience. The rooms were fantastic with such great touches, the food was amazing, and the service on both the game drives and the hotel was impeccable. The views of the river during your meals (often frequented by wildlife) was just a bonus!

Working with Terry in the reservations department was a pleasure and she helped provide us all of the information that we needed for our visa.

The game drivers with Paul were positively breathtaking. Paul went above and beyond to ensure that we saw an amazing array of animals, experienced great scenery and were educated on the Mara itself.

The GM of the hotel, Joseph runs a very tight ship. His staff were nothing short of incredibly friendly and welcoming all with great senses of humour and and eye for service. Special thanks to Lawerence and Sylvester.

Hola somos Vale y Gonza de Argentina, estuvimos alojados en Septiembre 2022 y no hay palabras para describir lo bien que nos hicieron sentir en el hotel, sin dudas en todo momento nos sentimos como en nuestra casa y eso fue el fruto de la calidad humana de todo el personal del hotel.||El equipo de la cocina es el mejor que vimos en todo el mundo, nuestros gustos son muy acotados y nos hicieron todos los días una comida distinta a elección nuestra, nos sentimos comiendo en nuestro propio País y los asistentes de cocina eran los mejores, siempre con excelente predisposición para todo, gracias Chef Shadrack, Josephate, Jando, Collins y Pauline.||Las habitaciones las mantenían limpias y ordenadas durante todo el día, cada vez que veníamos se un safari encontrábamos las habitaciones impecables, gracias Nelson y Samuel.||La seguridad del hotel entendiendo que estaba en medio de la sabana y sin muros era genial, nos sentimos super seguros todo el tiempo, nos acompañaban para entrar y salir de la habitación todo el tiempo, gracias John, Richard y Benjamin.||Parte importante del viaje sin dudas fue el guía que tuvimos en los 12 safaris que hicimos, el gran Dennis. Siempre informado, atento, respetuoso, calidad humana, pero lo más importante es que hizo un esfuerzo sobre humano para que podamos ver el 100% de los animales que habitan en el parque Masai Mara, de hecho vimos mas de 20 especies como rinocerontes, leopardos, leonas, leónes, búfalos, elefantes, jirafas, guepardo, hienas, cocodrilos, hipopótamos, topi, cebras, impalas, gacelas, ñus, etc. También vimos migraciones de búfalos, cebras y ñus. Dennis hizo posible tras largos recorridos y esperas que podamos ver a los animales cazando y hasta una jirafa pariendo, gracias Dennis sin dudas sos el guía N°1.||Por último y no menos importante queremos destacar al gerente del hotel Geoffrey, que les puedo decir de el, nos llevamos un amigo de Kenia sin dudas. Tuvimos un problema que no nos llegó el equipaje por culpa de la aerolínea y no teníamos nada, bueno ante semejante inconveniente nos encontramos con Geoffrey ni bien llegamos al hotel y nos soluciono todo, nos consiguió ropa, nos calmo, nos dijo que disfrutemos y que el se iba a ocupar de todo. Así fue, en 1 día nos trajo las valijas, las mando a buscar con un auto hasta el aeropuerto de Kenia, un genio, nos hizo sentir como en casa todo el tiempo.||Tenemos tantas cosas lindas para contarles sobre este hotel y sus empleados que seria imposible poder escribirlo todo.||La estadía, safaris, habitación, personal, comida, desayunos en safaris, sorpresas que preparaban todo el tiempo en el hotel y la gran despedida que nos realizaron con una torta decorada con frases hermosas en español.||Gente en resumen, si quieren hacer un viaje soñado, un safari inolvidable y al mismo tiempo hacer una familia en Kenia, no lo duden, no busquen más, no se vuelvan locos, vayan al Hotel Mara Explorer Tented Camp que Geoffrey los va a guiar a un viaje de ensueños.||Gracias querida familia del Mara Explorer, sin dudas vamos a volver, los queremos mucho...
