A must- stay gem near Masai mara. Located very close to one of the gates near Masai - mara, this safari camp had it all. Attentive and friendly staff, big - sized rooms, great landscaping around the property, a mini- play park for kids outdoors, some indoor games ( carroms, foosball..etc.) all in good working conditions. There was also a small pool on the premises, but we didn't get a a chance to use it. Vervet monkeys, baboons, pumbas and a multitude of colorful birds were everywhere and used to being amidst people. We were lucky to have been one of the very few people to have checked in as guests during the time (mid-Jan 2025), but we were blown away by the hospitality & extraordinary friendliness of the staff. Picnic breakfast/ lunch boxes were packed when we needed them( so we didn't need to come back to camp) and those boxes were also loaded. Staff took additional care to cater to our non- standard needs that came up now and then (ex: early meals, spice- levels in meals, packing chai/ tea along with our picnic boxes etc.)
Chef Richard and his team were exceptional! Every meal was authentic and fresh - felt like a reward everytime. He made sure that everything was perfect down to the last detail, even snacks during tea- time. He periodically got out of the kitchen to greet guests and take feedback too. The long hours and hard work put in by the entire camp staff to keep guests happy is more than admirable.
Big thanks to the meal service attendants, house- keeping, reception, security folks - the whole staff put together instilled heart-warming memories to last a long time. We will definitely stay at Kimana on our next trip. Bit pricey but I highly recommend this camp for a hassle-free & overall...
Read moreService The service at Mara Kimana Camp was exceptional from start to finish. Our waiter, Dennis, was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. He shared fascinating stories about his life and answered all our questions about his culture, which added a special touch to our experience. The entire staff was fantastic, always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. A big thank you to Frederick, the general manager, who personally came to thank us for our stay and ask for our feedback. It was clear that every member of the team was dedicated to providing outstanding service, down to the thoughtful detail of having a staff member or security guard walk us back to our accommodations after dinner with a flashlight. We also had pleasant interactions with other staff members whose names we didn't catch—major props to the entire team for their hospitality!
Overall Experience Overall, our stay at Mara Kimana Camp was fantastic. The entire team, from the general manager to the housekeeping staff, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Every aspect of the lodge, from the exceptional service to the delicious food and comfortable accommodations, exceeded our expectations. A special shout-out to Ricky, the lodge's adorable dog, who added a warm and homely feel to our stay—we hope he gets some extra snacks from us! We couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly recommend Mara Kimana Camp to anyone looking for a unique and...
Read moreGreat camp just a short distance away from Maasai Mara National Park. It was a comfortable stay but our favourite part of this camp is the staff. We normally don’t seek for much in stays, we just need comfortable bed and good shower. We didn’t expect to have such an amazing experience and feel so connected with the staff. Everyone was so hospitable. This includes the general manager Frederick, kitchen and restaurant staff like Dennis, reception, bar staff, security and grounds staff like Solomon, and the gate staff. We didn’t get everyone’s names but there was one staff that always checked up on us and showed us the best place to watch the sunset. Our meals were very enjoyable, you can tell the chef put a lot of love into his food. We loved relaxing in the camp after a long morning of game drives, drinking tea and having their delicious African donuts. On our last night, we just sat by the fireplace after dinner and listened to Solomon’s stories of his Maasai people whilst watching the night stars. It was truly magical. We hope to visit again to say hi to our friends at Mara...
