  • Wouldn't recommend anyone. * Detailed review: Lets start with the positives. Location of the hotel is okayish ( Located close to the Masai Mara-Talek Gate) and beside the Talek river, where you can occasionally spot baboons and Giraffes. However, you can find plenty of other hotels inside the Masai Mara so being close is not exactly an advantage.

That's the only positive part about this hotel. Seems this hotel ownership was transferred to Chinese Management and then it has gone just downhill. Rooms are in a poor condition, not at all maintained with broken tiles, dysfunctional showers and faulty doors/windows. Everything's a mess. Although they changed our room after first day when we complained to our tour operator about the state of the room, but surprisingly the next one was also in a okayish state, that's when we realised all the rooms are in a similar condition.

Restaurant food is okayish, you'll notice the same stuff from Morning to Dinner with very little change in the menu. Rarely there is any new item. If you order something then it takes almost couple of hours to fulfill that. Staff is always smiling but may be there is just not enough stuff with them to fulfill the order. Swimming Pool is in absolutely pathetic state. There are trees around and there is no pool cleaner/helper so there will be leaves, insects and all other things in the pool water. It is not cleaned ever, atleast I didn't see it being cleaned during 4 days of my stay. Wifi is only available in reception and restaurant, not in ANY of the rooms. It is very poor even in the reception area. Hotel tourists comprise of 95% Chinese, 5% European/US and 5% Indians, so the food and facilities are...

I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent stay at your facility. Unfortunately, the experience was far below acceptable standards and certainly not as advertised.

No Wi-Fi in the Room: Despite being listed as an available amenity, there was no internet access in the room throughout our stay.

No Intercom or Emergency Contact: There was no way to contact reception, the restaurant, or reach out in case of an emergency from the room, which is a serious safety concern.

Poor Room Conditions: The floor was dirty with broken tiles, and the closet was damaged. The hair dryer was also non-functional.

Unhygienic Conditions: Shockingly, while dining in the restaurant, there was a leak from the ceiling and animal droppings fell from the room above — an unacceptable and highly unsanitary situation.

False Advertising: Many of the features and amenities listed on Booking.com were misleading or simply untrue.

This stay was not only uncomfortable but also posed serious hygiene and safety risks. I strongly urge you to take corrective action and update your listings to reflect the true state of the property. I also expect a prompt response regarding how you intend to address...

Stay away from this place. There is really no redeeming quality here. The rooms, especially the toilets, are really dirty. The showers are non-functioning where you will get scalding hot water or freezing cold water. Then the pressure is like a small trickle of water. Wash basins just leak water all over the floor. No hand towels are provided. Bath towels are covered with lint that shed all over you and I was provided with a bath towel that is covered with wood splinters that scratched me all over. The rooms have mosquito nettings that do not even touch the floor (basically pointless). Beds are rock hard in the so called ‘deluxe room’. The food is really mediocre and not good. When eating at the restaurant, there is a strong sewage smell coming from outside. When we gave feedback to the staff on the sewage smell, they just smile at us. The only thing is that the servers are polite. Also due to the bonfire that is lit outside and mosquito coils lit in the rooms, be ready to constantly smell smoke which is very terrible for people with sinus / allergies.

It’s truly a joke that this lodge claims to be 5 star. Staying here was truly a horrible experience that I hope to...

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed the environment and services here. It's located in the Maasai village and we can travel through the village every time we go to the national Park. Also there are many villagers working in the hotel and they are very nice. Some of them learnt to speak Chinese to make us feel welcomed. 有个前台小哥甚至会说 WIFI密码,震惊到了哈! We also got to see many kinds of birds and bush babies in the garden and baboons across the Talek River. They said there would be elephants coming near the river for water as well. The water is precious. The bath water came from the river and they manually boil water for your use. The facilities might not be perfect because of the limits but indeed very indigenous. Last bit not the least, Maasai Mara is superb! I'll miss the stay!

Definitely not going back. Water heater wasn't working and we ended up boiling water and taking showers in buckets. Another serious issue we faced was that someone in local clothes kept banging our door at 330am-4am, non stop. Kids freaked out and no one from reception was picking phone either. Later at 6am when we got someone they told it was a wakeup call but they came to the wrong villa (we stayed at a family suite). There was no apology either which made me really upset. Also both lockers weren't working, batteries are dead and the staff couldn't fix during our 3 nights 4 days stay. This place is OFF my list for future.
