Recently back from a 4 night stay with our 2 son's in their mid 20's. Had a wonderful stay with very personal service . Shout out to Micky the camp manager and James our driver/guide. Excellent experiences with wildlife viewing and breakfast and sundowners at some lovely locations in the Masa Mara. Very quiet in the camp as start rainy season so we had the place almost to ourselves! Did mean game a little more difficult to spot due to long grass and some interesting 4 wheel off roading in mud and rivers but all added to the fun. |Little Naibor was an excellent choice for 2 couples or a family group as the 2 tents adjoined with a covered sofa, sunloungers, dining table and bean bags overlooking the river and slightly away from the other tents of Naibor Camp. Loved listening to the nearby hippos at night. |Food in camp good home cooking style, lovely breakfasts out on game drives and one day we did a full day out game viewing and took lunch. Great to set up under a tree with the wildlife all around. Lovely spots around the camp for lunch and dinner, and we enjoyed the chats with other guests around the camp fire before dinner.|Good to know that in the rooms shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc all supplied and also insect repellants for room and to spray on so no need to bring. Also all laundry done for you at no extra charge so not needing to take many change of outfit, and very informal at dinner. Our luggage was weighed on way out on small plane so be aware should not take more than 15kg each.|Had a fantastic time and would highly recommend.|PS rooms in real life much nicer than photos...
Read moreAmazing setting right on the bank of the Talek River in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The main tent where the restaurant and bar is located overlooks the river where the 'resident' hippos always seem to be putting on a show. We also saw crocodiles, all kind of birds and occasionally elephants feeding across the river. The tents are rustic but roomy and done to a very high standard. You are given a walkie talkie on arrival so you can contact the guys if you want hot water for a shower or for anything else you might need. The management and staff are fantastic, so friendly and they cannot do enough for you, the food and drinks are also excellent. We were there for 4 days/nights and enjoyed every breakfast, lunch and evening meal we had. This is an open camp allowing the animals to move freely so you do have to be aware of your surroundings, having said that guest safety is obviously the main priority, there are constant patrols of the perimeter and you are always escorted back to your tent after dark and from your tent for your early morning drive, we never felt our safety was at risk. The safari game drives out in the Mara National Reserve were out of this world, our guide was called Mark and he was great, his knowledge of the animals, birds and trees etc was incredible, we learned so much from him. We seemed to see something different every time we went out and he got us so close to the animals allowing us to take amazing photos and giving us memories we will never forget. All in all we had an amazing time at Naibor, we would not hesitate in recommending this...
Read moreWe went back in August 2014 and it was beyond amazing. We stayed in a family tent just opposite the hippo pod and there was nothing more me or my kids could have asked for as their first safari. Breakfast at our private platform overlooking dozens of basking hippos, the masai guards/nanny who played with my kids, escorted them around the camp, sneakily helped with their math homework, drinks around the campfire with friends we met staying at naibor wilderness, the communal dinner with such interesting guests from all over the world, the picnic breakfast by the river enroute to a crossing, the amazing fantastic wonderful 3 hour crossing Joseph managed to score for us (it was like a Nat Geo documentary but better) over thousands of wildebeests over the river mara, the serious camera envy my husband experienced when the serious documentary crew showed up, understanding finally why collectives are the way they are - a tower of giraffes, a parade of elephants, a parliament of owls and a wake of vultures, the picture perfect sunset Gin and tonics where a rainbow decided to show up, the kill of a pride when we witnessed their breakfast, the steam hissing from the wildebeest's .....||My only regret is that after a safari like that, witnessing a migration on the masaai mara, it wld be hard to top this and my children are spoilt for life. My husband also has a wildly exaggerated view of his photography skills but here in this magnificent setting, a monkey with an iPhone could take beautiful pictures....
