Nairobi Airport Apartments — Hotel in Syokimau-Mulolongo ward

Arrived very tired after 23 hrs after airborne. Place is not easy to find even with host(Lilian) giving instructions via the phone. The key was in the next compound with similar looking apartments. The guard was to give me the keys but was not aware so I contacted Lilian again . I was happy to find the apartment on ground floor but regretted later as it was noisy - children had to play outside. |Place was clean and kitchen had basic items. TV was configured in Chinese so i called host again who send some one to correct but did not succeed . Said some else will come but this never happened. During my conversation with host I learned a lot ( without prompting) - she has 4 other apartments , usually occupied and with guests who do not complain and that i should be grateful that I was allowed to check in earlier...... was too tired to respond||Checked out next day and realized i had forgotten and item of value ( expensive scrubbing gloves) called host who informed that place was occupied and that the cleaner had put the gloves in laundry area., and that I should wait until the couple check out. In brief.. I never got it many days and calls later, with host saying she is busy in meeting. Finally, she informs that the it was disposed off. What an...

We booked through their webpage and received an email confirmation but then Lillian asked for more money. The total price she requested was reasonable but I didn't appreciate the bait-and-switch. After trying to reason with her for too long, we gave up and went to another hotel.

Added in response: It is normal for hotels to post their best rates on their own web sites and there was a clear justification for the lowest rate: no breakfast. If the rate was an honest mistake instead of a trap, I believe that they should have honored it nonetheless. I'm glad that they seem to have changed the price now, but who knows how many previous weary travelers short on time and a place to stay decided to pay up instead of standing up for the written agreement that was made? the place is very charming. i felt home from the very beginning. marcy is very lovely. she answerd my questions patiently. after i told her that i am little hungry she offered me a plate off fruit slices and lot of water for free. the supper was only 4US$ (beef with chips and vegetable) with a complete refill. nobody needs to starve at this place. my flight left in the early morning, no problem taxi was organized and breakfast served on 4:30am. the room was very clean, i travelled for 4months but i can't remember a cleaner room and i stood in many hotels. definitly a place to stay, even it's no close to the center it's worth to stay and take the motocycle to the inner city. people looking for a close stay to the trainstation and airport this is your place. the last to mention i have never felt saver in a place during my travel than here. thank you...
