Lavender garden hotel — Hotel in Taita–Taveta

The hotel is situated right in Wudanyi town and therefore easy to find. I arrived to find Benson one of the staff who works at the reception waiting for me outside the hotel. The rooms, food, and services are out of this world. They went out of their way to make sure I had a great time and recommended places together with a guide (David) who is very knowledgeable. At night it can get very cold and the hotel has extra blankets together with hot water bottles to keep one warm. The rooms are extremely clean and towels are changed daily. The views especially for Wesu Hill early in the morning are to die for. Wudanyi is a hikers' paradise and a mini La Paz town in Kenya. |When I left one of their staff accompanied me to the terminal stage, waited until the matatu was full, and ensured I was okay before he left. We went to Taita hills for 2 days and stayed at Lavender garden hotel for 1 night. We called in front for information about how to get there, the price, and if they could arrange a guide for us. They were very friendly helpfull and on arrival a guide was fixed for a good price. |The room was okay, a good bed and a little balcony, but unfortunately the hot water didn't work, so we had to change rooms. We found the people to be friendly and the price reasonable. They had nice food as well and was affordable. Helpful staff. The location is good for birding as we could easily arrange motorbikes to both Ngaongao forest and Mbololo with a local guide and there were other food options in the area too.
