Market View Hotel Taveta — Hotel in Taita–Taveta

It's a good and clean hotel, the staff is friendly and willing to help with all things possible. If booking make sure you ask for a room with a window. They have rooms with balconies as well. I booked a delux room and was surprised with a big room but not a single window. Problem was resolved, tho it needed an upgrade. Executive room was very spacious, tho the bathroom was a bit on the tiny side, the showers were in working condition and after 20 days of cold showers (which I didn't mind) a hot one here was very welcome. and let's face it, we don't need big bathrooms do we?. Little minus points would be the broken locks and no room cleaning the next day or fresh towels. Then again I stayed for two nights and was away most of the times. The restaurant cook makes excellent samosa's, the bar has friendly and cheerfull staff. Wifi connections were good. And if you don't mind the noise of hustling boda boda drivers at night I would suggest this hotel in a heart beat. Thank you for making my stay...

It was my first time to visit Taveta town. After a search for various guest houses, I settled for Market View Hotel and I have no regrets. Being a Christmas weekend, many people were thronging various entertainment spots erected by the hotel. Well, I still managed to have a quiet night as they made sure that the noise levels were well managed.

I enjoyed the breakfast while seeing the glaciers of Mt. Kilimanjaro. ( Note: The weather must be conducive for a good view). The staffs are quite helpful and offer great service. The photos show the view of the mountain.

The first hotel I went into when I got to Taveta. Luckily I got there when used rooms were being cleaned, and it gave me a chance to see what I would have been getting myself into had I arrived late at night with no knowledge of the town and no opportunity to look around. Luckily the hotel rules claim that if the receptionist opens a room for viewings, it's deemed sold! This way I avoided purchasing a room that I would have regretted!
