I booked into this hotel due to the closeness of the hotel to City Mall and Nyali, upon entering I met a friendly lady at reception courteous however she then asked me to pay half of the balance 5100ksh up front which I had no issue with, before I handed over any money I waited while she stood looking at me until she said can I have the money? I replied I'll have an invoice or receipt first. She eventually gave me a receipt.||||Whilst waiting at reception I looked around me into the dining area, it was dark, very little light, the reception was drab and shabby and two or three guys hanging around inside sitting down.||||I was then taken to me room, on route to the second floor the stairs and hallways were filthy and obviously had not seen a mop in a while well a mop and bleach. When I entered the room on first glance it was ok, it was no palace. When the person who escorted me left I had a look around - it had danger all over it the plug socket by the bed is hanging of the wall with all the wires exposed, the bed itself was hard and uncomfortable, the aircon didnt work but they had a fan on the ceiling that made a terrible racket. The toilet was in the same room with just a panel sliding door, half a roll of tissue for three nights and a bar of soap! That was it oh and a towel. When I ran the shower i let it run for 10 mins no hot water, but then I looked it had a plug socket next to it that the shower head was plugged into!!!! ||||I stayed one night and decided that was it, I didnt have breakfast simply due to cleanliness, when I was checking out the lady said oh we have a penalty of 2000 shillings for overstaying!! I told her I was due to stay three nights but absolutely would not be staying and would not be paying any more, Period.||||I booked this property through Booking.com and as a side to this I left an honest review on booking.com as I am doing here. The next day I had a Facebook Messenger request to my private page from an individual at the hotel apologising and wanted to make things better, I explained that as a former hotelier I did not want to waste any more of my time on this issue. I then received another message asking me very politely if I would remove the review! I replied it was an honest review but I would be prepared to remove it for a full refund. He politely declined. ||||This review is not written because I didnt get a review but more to warn other potential guests that staying here will no doubt give you the same experience. There are many many hotels in this area of Nyali and Bamburi I wouldchoose to stay at one of them and give this...
Read moreThe hotel is just average; proximity to shopping malls is the only good thing i liked.
I asked for dinner yesterday night; apart from it taking longer than promised; i guess they served me stale food. Now i cant get off my bed.
The chicken must have been recycled or rather was stale/expired and the chef tried to go around it by putting in too much spices. Sometimes just be simple. Thats why people Prefer to eat at vibandas ot there coz food is prepared with simplicity and turns out tasty.
The spices were too much and messed the food was flat. No aroma. Not delicious. The cats helped me feast on the food. In the morning the breakfast is just “there”. I mean all in all food in that place is awful. Better eat out and come back to sleep. Total waste.
I raised the issue with the waiter who didnt seem to know what the problem was. Promised to tell the chef. Nothing was done. Pathetic service.
Wifi only works ground floor. They will keep lying to you its in all rooms but you cant access it, even on first floor. Make customers trust uou by...
Read moreI definitely don't recommend it.
Despite traveling together, we were assigned rooms very far apart with completely different standards. In one room, we noticed holes in the door (as if someone was trying to break in). The door didn't close all the way, knocking at night, making us feel unsafe. One room had a kettle, the other didn't. Mice were running around in the hallway, probably in a larger group in the attic. The hotel staff was neutral (they didn't speak or greet anyone, and security let everyone in). The balcony doors wouldn't close, and one had a cracked glass. The bathroom windows wouldn't close. We only encountered hot water once, which also smelled terribly. The mosquito net didn't close all the way and had holes in it. The room wasn't cleaned once during our stay. The only positive was...
