Chunkurchak Gorge, about 1.5 hours from Bishkek, is an absolute gem for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts! My visit was nothing short of spectacular, with the highlight being the thrilling Sky Bridge, a 125-meter-long suspension bridge offering jaw-dropping views of the gorge and the Tien Shan mountains.
The scenery, with its lush greenery in spring and vibrant poppies, was breathtaking, and the nearby Pigeon Waterfall added a serene touch to the experience. The Supara Chunkurchak Ethno Complex was a delightful surprise, offering delicious traditional Kyrgyz cuisine like beshbarmak at affordable prices, plus activities like horseback riding and archery.
The ambiance is peaceful yet invigorating, perfect for a day trip or overnight stay in their cozy yurts. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the entry fee (around 500 som for the bridge) felt like a steal for such a memorable adventure.
Whether you’re hiking, snapping photos, or just soaking in the views, Chunkurchak is a must-visit destination...

Secondly, on the day we went skiing, there was heavy snowfall and dense fog, yet it was shocking how nobody seemed to care about the safety of those at the top of the mountain with zero visibility. Dear management, don't you realize how dangerous that is? I understand that it's a business and people have paid, but is profit really worth more than the safety of your guests?
The star rating is solely attributed to the natural...
Read moreI have been here twice this February and generally speaking Chunkurchak has more advantages around the nearest to Bishkek ski resorts. First off, its road with beautiful landscapes when you head over your way crossing the pass. We were supposed do skiing in Zil ski base, but its road got super icy not letting any car to pass by. In Chunkurchak road every car can feel okay. Be careful there, especially sliding on the balloons. If you are a foreigner be cautious twice with locals, primarily there have been many occasions when locals hit people from Pakistan and India. I would advise you to take with yourself snacks because there may be a super crowd waiting for their orders. So, it would be great to have food, hot tea, coffee in thermos...
