Rustic yurt campsite with breakfast.
Rooms: A bed on a wooden platform with a solar-powered lamp. Even in Summer (June), it was cold (~4-6 degrees) but the blankets provided were sufficient in keeping us warm through the night. Keep in mind there’s no heater or lights, hence the “eco” in the name.
Facilities: An actually nice toilet bowl (with toilet paper) and a sink (with soap). But it’s outdoors so prepare for a cold run.
Showers: There are no showers (unsure if it’s not working or just that there are no showers), but there’s a hot spring nearby ran by one of their peers. To access the hot spring, you have to buy a ticket from the owners (250 som pp). Hot spring worked as a replacement for the shower.
Food: Dinner was extra (600som). Our night it was some lagman + a potato soup. I enjoyed the hot food tremendously. Breakfast (included) was eggs and corn grits. There’s coffee too.
Water: you can request for boiled water.
Overall: Truly...
Read moreWe stayed in a yurt, which was super basic (as with all yurts). Think wooden platform with a mattress and thick blankets on the side. It was a little dark in the yurt and we wished it came with one more light bulb, but hey, this is an eco camp right? It was cool that their light bulbs were solar powered!
Toilets are clean. No showers, so you gotta walk ~15 mins past the bridge to get to the sulphur springs to wash off. Costs 250 som per person to enter, which is a little hefty considering that it’s a natural spring…. But the lady manning the booth at the springs was so lovely that we almost didn’t mind.
Dinner costs 600 som per person extra. Breakfast is simple as pictured, and you can ask for a refill for the grits.
Host was super smiley and helpful! Brought sunshine to...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay at Eco Yurt Camp Arashan. The owner was very friendly, warm and helpful. The yurts were clean and warm. The shop had a good selection of beers and the breakfast was sufficient for a demanding day of hiking. They even offer lunchboxes, so if you didn’t have time or forgot to stock up on food in Karakol, you have an option here. And having some WiFi was nice too. Also, for dinner I told them that I do not eat beef/red meat and they accommodated my request and provided chicken. Thank you for a...
