Stayed 1 night here. Wish we had 2, but there wasn't time. It was such a cosy place, not touristy and not too many ppl. Jus us and the family who owns the place and they were very nice and helpful and gave us clear and proper instructions.
There is an open air tent like bath area for shower with warm water if there's a need for a quick bath, and also toilet if you need to do your business, it's clean with toilet paper too and not gross with a nice wooden hut built over the dugged hole and well maintained. Trust me, I'm a city dweller and it was OK for me too. The rooms were spacious and cosy and the beds were comfy too, there's also a heater and TV with Netflix in the bigger yurt we stayed in.
They seem to be building more yurt thus there's abit of building stuff around with small constructions but nothing too unsightly or major that it causes disturbance of any form, and would probably be done soon.
Breakfast comes with the night stay, if you require dinner, you can pay for them to cook for you. Our breakfast was a spread and we had local honey and homemade jam. Had fresh horse milk too and it was sweet to the taste, unexpectedly pleasant. No touristy horse riding thingy so it's a good thing, since I'm not a fan of exploiting animals for tourism .
It's overall a beautiful place and we loved it alot and really wished we had more time to spend there at this little cosy village.
*One thing to note tho, while you can go about your daily washing, we should bare in mind that because everything goes back into the nature, perhaps bringing along organic toiletries will help with the environment alot better and the area that the family lives in. Let's not leave any undesirable chemicals that will be harmful to the...
Read moreWouldn't give more than 3 stars staying here. Luckily, we are just staying for a night. The place needs better upkeep, a little rundown compared to other yurts we have stayed in Kyrgyzstan. Upon arrival, the gate was closed and nobody came to us although we waited for a while. There were no sign of Karakol Yurt Village at the gate. We had to open and drove in to check out. The yurt was rather basic was was covered with a plastic layer on the yurt which was noisy whenever wind blew. Dinner and breakfast was above average. They don't accept credit card payment. Their wifi didn't work. There wasn't any 4G or 5G signal here. We felt like it was just a accommodation as the staff...
Read moreA nicely located yurt camp with good food. The manager also spoke very well English and was very nice. We made a hiking trip to Altyn Arashan and they helped organize transportation, guide and accommodation in Altyn Arashan. Transportation car was a bit unsuitable for the drive and broke down several times. Our guide was unqualified, not fit and not very helpful. We basically walked alone the full trip. Upon arrival it turned out our Yurt camp had not been booked and the camp was already full. After a long wait we were placed in a temporary Yurt which was dirty and cold. I can recommend to organize your hiking trip...
