The camp is very basic but that’s all you get on the track. People are very friendly, can speak English ok and the set up is basic but really ok considering the remote location. There is no reception, the yurts are good, you get sleeping bag+blanket and sleep on a mattress. (I had layered clothing on and was warm). Food is ok (egg+sausage for breakfast, soup & bread for dinner, plenty of jam and sweets - like always 😉). Price: 4.000 som incl. breakfast & dinner per person/ night. If you reserve through a guesthouse in Karakol you usually pay 500 som deposit and the rest in the camp. The next camp (yurts) to stay at if after the lake, after the pass and down on the other side of the mountain - so this is the only option. However, using your own tent you can camp anywhere.

The weather wasn't great when we were here. Raining and freezing. We didn't stay in a yurt instead we camped with our own tent for a night and it was free of charge. There was a dinning hall where we could come in, sit and eat. It looks basic but it kept us warm from the cold outside. The dinner was 1000som/person with tea, breads, jam and pasta soup (potatos, carrots and farflle and a few pieces of meat). It's good that you could get the 2nd serving. The toilet was terrible but usable 😅😅

Beautiful location but the food offered for dinner and breakfast just isn't good/ nutritious enough on day 1 of a day 3 hike. Toilet was horrific. We were in a 3 person yurt, but some people were sharing a 7 person yurt.

During our stay on the Ak-Suu traverse this was our favorite place. The best thing is the little lake just by , where you can relax after a long day of trekking. The view of the glorious mountain is sick. The owner is also very welcoming , something rare on the Ak Suu considering is now all about business and there are...
