Shanghai City Hotel — Hotel in Osh City

Brand new hotel designed with classic mainland Chinese style. The food and characteristics of the internal architecture, dining hall and food are exactly as one would find in Shanghai or similar cities there. If you love Chinese culture or have lived there before, this is the hotel for you.||||It is immaculately clean and they have a multitude of staff to assist. Clearly they have invested heavily in Osh and are still in the process of increasing service and amenities including a new pool. In time it is likely to be quite popular as it develops its reputation. ||||At the time of writing unfortunately they couldn't accept cards so payment is all in cash for now but management assures me this will be sorted soon after initial bureaucracies are overcome. Other weaknesses that will need addressing is some of the local staff need improved training particularly in the restaurant as it was clear when the real Chinese chef wasn't on hand, and some waitress behaviour needed improvement but as the hotel grow this area for development should hopefully improve.||||Certainly not a budget hotel but considering the 4 star rating they are out to please and pricing is exceptionally low in an attempt to break into the market. I stayed there one night. First of all, the bathroom was smelling very badly due to the canalisation(?) or similar. The situation was the same after I requested to change my room. Shortly after check-in I was called from the reception I was called and told that payment can be done in cash only. Issue was managed after, due to the constructive aprroach of the receptionist guy who had recognised the uncomfortable situation caused by hotel's poor services. Bathroom was not really clean, toilet and showe were within the same space. It means there was no shower cabin, which is quite strange for a hotel stating 4 stars about itself.
