Booking easy by email, no credit card necessary. Reception ok. We were a bit early for our room to be ready. ||||Location is great with regard to the castle: It is only two or three minutes walk to the castle, about the same distance as the castle car park is from the castle, so no point driving there. But that location also means that it is dead after 6 pm. Dinner options are very, very limited, so you better drive the 11km to Bauska. ||||We booked room 16. Room is quite small. Low table and two chairs, no desk. Bed is a bit smaller than queen size (probably 1.6m wide). Two nightstands but no electricity there if you want to keep the bed light. No closet / cupboard / shelves whatsoever. No suitcase rack. Just a wardrobe. ||||No a/c, no safe deposit box, no fridge /mini bar. Wifi is available. Easy to log in to. ||||Room was clean. ||||Bathroom: Sink, toilet, small shower. Liquid soap is provided. Shower has good water pressure but the drain cannot cope with the water, so your shower is over after three minutes or the water will flood the bathroom. Temperature is somewhat unstable. ||||Breakfast: Continental and very limited at that: 1 type of cheese, 2 cold cuts (salami, ham). Sweet option is one type of jam. Tomatoes, cucumbers. 1 juice (orange). 3 types of bread (the only item with abut of variety). 1 cereal + packs of porridge. That really is the worst breakfast that I can remember for a long time.||||Everything was clean, but that is about it. As a whole: A big disappointment. I recommend staying in Bauska. There you are a lot closer to everything else you need, and you have more options of...
Read moreI stayed there overnight for Rundale Palace visit. Very convenient location. Bus stop a few steps away, Palace 5 minutes walk. Hotel based next to pond one side and garden other side. In the garden possible to play with kids or make a barbecue.||Room I stayed was big enough for 1 person with comfy double bed a nice small bathroom with big shower. The only complain sound isolation not good and I can hear other guests heavy walks at night time.||Breakfast was good to keep me full an energetic for the day. Food choice could be poor for some people who used to eat full English breakfast. But for me it was nice to eat local tasty food.||There is no dinner provided in evening but next to bus stop there is a supermarket and tavern with local food. ||The owner daughter who served the breakfast was polite, friendly and very helpful. She helped me to organise a taxi to Bauska. Price for a taxi was only €10 and it took 10-15 min to drive there.||I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Good for all...
Read moreRundale seemed the perfect place to find a place to overnight on our journey from Tallinn to Vilnius; a bit more than halfway, and right beside an interesting historical sight. The hotel is very quaint; smallish but nicely decorated rooms (not all are en suite, book early for those). The breakfast selection was quite limited, but what was there was enjoyable, and they time it so that you can relax and enjoy your final coffee until 10 am when the palace across the street opens. A beautiful location in the country, I enjoyed an early morning run on the local streets before breakfast. A...
