Terrible experience. We were group of 12 and a dog hoping to spend a great family time with some grilled food and nice beach time. When we've arrived our excitement was gone immediately. Pictures of the place does not represent the reality, as well as, it is much more than 400m to the sea. We were promised to have our own house, place for bbq, kitchen, separate showers and we were 3 times ensured that dogs are allowed when we spoke on phone with the host (former english teacher). At the time of arrival, we were told that there are 2 houses in total and that we are getting 3 rooms in one house and 1 room in another. Bathrooms are shared. There was no kitchen available during the summer time (available only to host), instead there was a nice bbq area outside, with many tables and random water boiler. Not sure where to wash dishes or make eggs. We were very disappointed and the attitude of the host was horrific she explained us that she is surprised of our expectations and that this is the place to sleep not to hang out. Fair enough just could mentioned that before. Finally, she vas very rude and asked us to leave because dogs are not allowed and she can get better clients if she want to. We spend 4 hours of driving with 3 cars but we were more than ready to go home than spend our holidays in a place, where guests are treated without respect and delivery of products and services does not exist. Luckily, we were able to find an amazing house 1,5h drive from Kolka to Jurkalne. Happy...

My room was on the 2nd floor of the main building and I really liked that it was a 2nd door that opened up to a common terrace with tables and chairs. The garden had several nice sitting areas including a dining room with a roof. There is a kettle there and free drinking water. The guest house is located within walking distance from the Cape, and there is a supermarket just down the road. Everything was clean. The WiFi was excellent and the friendly owner spoke excellent English.. 😢: The mattress was quite a...
Read moreCape Kolka may be beautiful, but the town of Kolka itself has nothing to offer as access to the sea and coast is largely dominated by some industrial complex. If you do find yourself here, then there are few places to stay.||||Vitoli is one to avoid.... We had a tiny bedroom and a small bed which had seen better days. The terry towelling sheets and regular nudges in the back from the mattress springs didn't contribute to a good night's sleep. The bathroom is shared, small and dark. ||||We had many great experiences staying at a variety of places round the coast of Latvia, this, however, was not...
