Kucuru Dzirnavas (Kuchuru Water-Mill, built in 1875, GPS: 56.9244, 26.0161) is situated in very beautiful place among wild forests and hills of Central Vidzeme. Hotelkeepers - a family couple - are very friendly and benevolents. Rooms are clean and very cosy (see attached photos). ||The territory of the guesthouse includes picturesque mill pond and small river. Boats rent and fishing are included in the price of your stay. You can relax in sauna or have very exciting experience trying authentic latvian wet bath with birchen and oaken brooms.||||You may order breakfast, dinner or supper separately (the prices are: ||breakfast - 2,5 Ls or 3,5 Euro per person,||dinner/supper - 3 Ls or 4 Euro per person).||All meals are in latvian countryside style and are highly ecological and very delicious.||This place is also very good for holding banquets, family celebrations and friendly parties up to 90 persons. Also there is home museum with a lot of interesting historical artifacts from XIX century till the end of the Soviet authoritarian regime - antique irons, gas lamps, radios, photo cameras, badges, agricultural machinery, ammo of The World War II and so on and so on. We did not speak German, she did not speak English but she spoke Russian and we understood this language and could speak a bit.||||She showed us the place, told its amazing history and presented the enormous collection of old things: irons, ploughs, lamps, clocks and even an old Moskvitch! ||Room was clean and nice, with huge bed. There was a bathroom adjoining the room for our priavte use. Not only is it a beautiful place but just as important is the people who run it are the most hospitable people you would ever want to meet. The rooms are so cozy and fun to stay in.
