Green Bear (guest house) — Hotel in Līgatne

stayed for 1 night. the hotel was quite deserted, not many guests were staying at the time. the street on which the hotel is located is on the towns upper part and is pretty quiet, surrounded by old wooden village houses. to dine out or visit the caves you d have to go down the hill.||Its probably the closest accommodation the Ligatne Nature Trails of Gauja national park, but you still better confirm the exact location with the locals so you wont get lost, since the access road is pretty confusing. Once there though, you ll probably find the area very beautiful.||||the room was clean and quite new. all necessaries were in place. the breakfast wasnt anything special but we got to enjoy it on the outside verandah. the highlight of te hotel is a huge teddy bear opposite the reception :) you will find many more teddy bears on the 2nd floor and in the restaurant area. ||||unfortunately the hotel staff was struggling giving any information about the area and barely spoke English.||||overall, there is not much choice in that area, so the place is fine enough. free parking beside, free breakfast and...

Probably this is the only place to stay if you wish to go around the Litgatne National Park. I like this place a lot because the host is very nice and friendly. The room is very clean, and in country style. It even had a balcony giving me a view of a beautiful forest view. Breakfast is decent European style. Parking is easy and you must drive a car to there anyway or you have to pay much time looking for a bus timetable which is possibly in Lativan only. The hotel is small but very beautiful. It is surrounded by beautiful nature - the forest, the river, small hills, caves. Also there are very interesting historical buildings around. The hotel rooms are cozy, clean with a beautiful view out the window. The food could be better, it is very average (both lunch and breakfast). Many tourist attractions are very close, also it is possible to go for long walks. If the weather is good it is possible to relax on the outdoor terrace.
