We booked a three night stay and we enjoyed the first two nights. Our third night was disrupted by a foursome partying in the next room. At 2320 I dressed and went to security to complain. Security talked with them about the noise and they were quiet for a bit. At 0030 I again dressed, went to security, requested to be moved, but was denied. Again security asked them to be quiet. However after a brief period of time the party resumed. At 0115 there was a ruckus in the hall and as they walked past our room the banged loudly several times on our door. Then for the next 30 minutes they would bang on our wall every 5 minutes. I felt very threatened by the situation as it had become apparent that security had no intention of removing them from the Manor. The next morning we were afraid to stay for breakfast as we were concerned about a confrontation. We spoke with management and it was apparent that the security man did not mention anything about the party that had disturbed the guests. They have no policy in place for this type of incident while other hotels often have a “ one warning policy” removing the guests as well as a fine if there is a second incident. It is a lovely setting, but I won’t recommend a stay as they seem to have a haphazard way of...
Read moreThe place looks magnificent as you drive in and has lovely grounds. Staff were friendly and gave us an info booklet in english about its history. Our room was very nice but the day was 30 degrees so a lot hotter than they would think so to get to sleep was hard as it was so hot. We were able to open a window but large flies came inside. Dinner was exquisite served outside on the terrace. Compliments to a great chef and the barman was lovely chatting and answering our questions. We walked around inside and out after seeking permission. We did not go anywhere private but were aware of all the secret stairs for servants behind door that were left ajar. Truly a wonderful experience. When we awoke for breakfast we were treated to a mini banquette so lovely and way too much but lovely. Late checkout at 12 although we headed off to Rundale Palace...
Read moreThis was our first time in Mālpils Manor. The reception was very friendly and welcoming, every staff member we met was friendly as well. I would recommend the restaurant for everyone, you can even come here if you are not staying over night. The food and the service is top notch. The food was actually of the best I have ever ate comparing to all Riga top restaurants. The chef and the team in restaurant are super proffesional, they will find the best vine for every dish in the set as well. Breakfast seemed very little at the behing but it is sufficient and also very delicious, only thing i could recommend is a better coffee machine as it has very limited options for coffee with milk. We still have one full day ahead with 3 meals so I will update the review if anything...
