Spāre Hotel — Hotel in Riga

Good points:||Free parking thats all that we liked.||||Bad points:||This is probably the dirtyest run down hotel i have stayed in in 30 countries and 35 years!||The receptionist spoke No English.||Dirty hotel needs a complete renovation al the walls need painting carpets replaced.||2 out of the 4 lights in the bathroom where out.||look's absolutley nothing like the pictures on booking.com||cheap and old furniture falling to peices needed replacing years ago.||towels dirty/stained and worn. need replacing.||Breakfast was rubbish it was all served at your table so you couldnt go for more juice coffee etc.||The hotel did not get me gluten free bread in as i requested. probably because the owner of the hotel cant read English. or latvian for that mater as i translated my message.||There where more ants at breakfast than humans, there was only myself and my dad in the breakfast room (i wonder why?).||when we mentioned the ants the owner/ receptionist gestured that the ants where there because of the plants. I mean its not rocket science is it get rid of the darn plants!||There are several steps to the reception so not suitable for disabled guests not that you would want to stay here anyway.||The "hotel" looks like it has not been touched since the soviet era.||AVOID...

1st of all the receptionist is useless,doesn't know anything about prices or common European standart service. 2nd the "JUNIOR SUITE" I payed extra for was a terrible room in the top story of the building, it was so cold and gross that even without me using the toilet I got a cold from just 1 night of staying there 3rd If i book a suite i expect pillows,lots of pillows it had only 2 small ones. Went down to ask for more and ofc got rejected 4th never stay here if you don't feel like quiting smoking Food was good and cheap but...

Great value for price. Specious rooms, clean sheets and towels, soap and basic toiletries in the room.

Free parking and easy accessible from airport. Well connected with the city and close by one of the main shopping malls in Riga.

Definitely recommended place if you need cheap place where to crash in...
