The positive thing is the proximity of the beach: few hundred meters away. Also the staff at the restaurant is nice and friendly||Extra hard and small beds and room, couldnt sleep till the last guest went to sleep, because of the noise, no shield on the window for the insects: we had spiders and mosquitoes in our room, jammed door. The room is very dark. The reservation was not correct: we asked for double bed OR 2 singles put together. When arrived were given room with 3 single tiny beds without any comment; not great for someone who is quite tall. Receptionist said that previous couple who arrived had the same request and they are out of double rooms now and rooms with 2 single beds to be put together. They wrote me that I had to contact the other building if I wanted a double bed, which I didnt do since in my request was another option: 2 single beds put together. Isnt it the reception/ hotel who has to accomodate the guest, but the guest has to waist time calling around, when I have a confirmed reservation? If we wanted, we could move the beds together, but we have to put them back before leaving. I have to say again: is it really the guest who has to do this if you as a hotel cant accomodate the request? :( And one of the covers had dirt (tomatoe leftovers) on it. I visited this restaurant with my friends. Very impressed with the decor, seating and the whole set up. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the owner was very welcoming and friendly. She was very happy to help and explain the dishes. We ordered Pork Roast in beer sauce and pickled cucumber served with potatoes, Pan fried ork medallions with season vegetables, sour cream sauce and fries and Chicken slices in sour cream - garlic sauce. The food presentation, quality and quantity was very good. The restaurant also has well stocked bar. We had Kvass and Local beer. This was followed by a good selection of desserts Cottage cheese tower served in strawberry sauce, Home made Black currant ice-cream served in vanilla sauce and the local favourite Rye bread dessert with dried fruit with whipped cream. An absolutely magical stay in Roya. We stayed for 2 nights, the sleep was great, the town is quiet. The private terrace was a great touch, especially in the autumn months when the surrounding nature turns golden. The breakfast was phenomenal and different both mornings (which kept it exciting) - a full table of various local goodies and home cooked foods. I also MUST highlight the amazing restaurant "Otra puse" which you should definitely go to for lunch or dinner if you stay at Hotel Roja. The only complaint I could say would be about the water heater, it takes a while for the water to warm up, but when its hot, it stays hot.
