Skrablas — Hotel in Rucavas pagasts

We just got back from this place. The location is beautiful, very close to the beach. We stayed at the hotel as well as separate private house. Hotel rooms were clean and nice, however private house did not look so clean. There was sand in the beds, possibly from people who stayed before us, which means sheets probably were not changed. We stayed there for 5 days. All these days there was a big dog of the leash just running around territory, we figured out it was owner’s dog. We love dogs, but this dog was a little bit disturbing to others and us. The dog would come and sit next to the tables at the restaurant, while resting at the beach it would come and just pee next to your towel. The owner was pretty rude, but the other workers were very nice. Other than that, hotel is in a perfect location, I hope owner’s can fix some little details so we could come...

Lovely place and a fantastic location! Miles of natural undisturbed beach, hotel located 150 ft from the shore. Some parts of the beach are full of beautiful and colorful pebbles that are part of the nature sanctuary. A little walk on the beach takes you to the sandy beaches. The rooms are simple but comfortable. Multiple additional amenities are available by request. The hotel has a sauna and steam room, and on colder days, it provides fantastic opportunities to warm up and cool off directly in the Baltic Sea. Nice place by the sea, clean and beautiful. But fix the soundproofing of the walls, please!

First of all, this is a wonderful place. But when look a little carefully. Are things that can make it better.

It is a very short way to the sea. The beach is with stones and not sand. If you want that, you have to travel further north in Latvia. A little tip go to the three wharf breakwater on the south side, there is sand in the sea.

Internet WiFi is very good, as mobile network coverage is poor there. Hotels have a guard dog that is with the guests, it is not sociable and friendly, possible looks a bit like a owner.
