Zoltners Hotel — Hotel in Tērvetes pagasts

Coming from Jelgava in dark, snow and fog and - 22,5 degrees ||We found a paradise place , we ordered grilled salmon which obviously had a very short contact to the fire place and inside looked very fresh fish. (we checked was dead, so no problem) ||just to try we order a cheek of cattle , never had before, and it was perfect, we order also some glasses of chablis and it was really delicious, it was a real french perfection (not a russian mix ...like in Riga places) not to forget as aperitif my husband had gin and tonic he asked for Hendricks gin ......and it really arrived ....liked it should be with cucumber. (search in Riga for such an bar-tender )||||Finally we are coming back latest in summer all was good too perfect and we are not talking about price there was a value . ||And by the way there was also a children's Menu so next time taking child with us. ||||...

Location is outstanding, beautiful pond, beautiful surroundings with trees, singing birds, fishes .. postcard countryside scenery. |Lovely rooms, architecture, atmosphere. Clean and cozy rooms with nice wooden elements. Great features for a hotel.. but one could argue that the service was average. Not taking full advantage of the location soul / potential: for instance not a word about the local brewery, no sharing of the history / philosophy of the place, quite cold and impersonal contact with staff. The place has everything to make you feel unique but somehow attention to details and people is missing. We trust this will change in the future.|To mention 2 things that deserves 6 stars: the breakfast and their chocolate...

The best restaurant in this countryside area. Interesting menu with french style dishes blended with local touch. This time we went family with 3 children. There is children menu. We ordered salats and soup for starters. For main course steaks and hamburgers. Both were overcooked according to our standards. Presentation of food was fine and service was pleasant but no action taken by waiter when informing about overcooking. The hamburger was ordered medium-rare but was cooked through as per photo. Steaks were ordered rear but were delivered medium as per photo.|We will visit again as this is the best option...
