The owner of this place runs it with an iron fist.
I have so far spent a month there and did go through brutal sickness episodes. I can say these guys, so far, have done everything right. From going above and beyond to accommodate you and fit your current needs and updated difficult schedule, to inquiring about you at the hospital while making sure you know they’re not calling just to check if you can pay your next month; Being easy to talk to without much rigidity or formality; Choosing the right cool “local” guy with the right laid back attitude to manage the place; Being extremely firm when it comes to safety and door locks (I wasn’t happy with it but you’ll have to go downstairs pick up yr delivery if it’s after 4p). I remember a delivery guy complaining he was severely reprimanded for daring to take the elevator after 4pm; Being flexible when it comes to irregular room cleaning; Acting by the book to manage Covid-19 struck patients and following strict disinfection protocols…
The one bedroom suite I got is spacious enough and my dog loves the balconies watching over the street. This hotel is a great spot if you have a dog because you get to go hiking in the woods. There is plenty of parking space as well. No one will tell you “hey you’re late” or “we’re closed, we can’t take care of this today”. They’ll always do their best. In other words “no” is not an option and I am sincerely grateful that investing in this place has not earned me the usual irritations and frustrations I’ve endured in other pricey hotels. They get it that you need peace.
Now after all the pros I have listed, I have to be clear that my stay isn’t over yet but I’m crossing my fingers they’ll stick to the same standards. Thanks for making sure you don’t do what other failed venues in Lebanon have been doing which has absolutely led to...
Read moreHotel Wakim in Beit Meri is a great family owned hotel nestled in the mountains above Beirut. I stayed here for 11 days with a large group of Americans for our friend’s wedding - Ricky (the owner) and the other hotel staff truly made us feel at home during our stay.
From booking and negotiating cab rides and excursions on our behalf, to sending supplies and food to our rooms when folks in our group were sick, and offering helpful advice about getting around in Lebanon - we received an amazing level of personalized service that you just would never get at other larger/chain hotels.
The rooms themselves are spacious, clean and well furnished. Many of them also have stunning balcony views of the surrounding valleys (incredible sunsets and sunrises!). Staff are super responsive and kind and helped us promptly with anything we needed.
I would highly recommend that you book Hotel Wakim for your next...
