Mresty Guest House — Hotel in Mount Lebanon Governorate

The Mresty Guest House is a bed and breakfast located in the Druze village of Mresty, in the Upper Chouf. It’s a large, beautiful house on the main street, perched on the edge of a mountain slope descending into the valley. The house is beautifully furnished and has plenty of open spaces, balconies and grape arbors. The stone, tile and gardens create the atmosphere of a traditional country home.||||The air is cool and crisp up here, you have great views from the balconies, and the sea is visible from the house. The village is idyllic, with terraced gardens full of fruit, nut and olive trees, and beautiful gardens. Upon arrival, our hosts Fadia and Marwan greeted us, and Marwan took us up a short mountain road to a trail head overlooking the town. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby as the village sits on the edge of the Cedar Reserve.||||When we got back, Marwan took me to the garden where we selected some vegetables for the evening meal. We didn’t expect dinner, but dining options in Mresty are fairly limited, and our hosts insisted. They made us an amazing meal of dishes specific to the area, most of which I had never tried before. A particular highlight was the labneh. I’m generally fairly neutral about labneh, but this stuff was amazing, and unique to the Upper Chouf. It’s made from goat’s milk by a special process, and it is out of this world. The taste, richness and consistency is more suggestive of a goat cheese, with sour notes that make it unlike anything else. I’m considering ditching my belongings and filling my suitcase with this labneh, it’s that good!||||The rooms are well-furnished, and spotless, as are the bathrooms. WiFi is available. The breakfast is sumptuous with locally sourced ingredients, many grown on the property itself. Fadia makes her own jams and preserves from the great variety of fruits available on site, including figs, blackberries, quince, pears, grapes and more. Coffee on the balcony in the morning is an exquisite experience.||||Overall this was amazing place to stay and I recommend it...

Loved this place and the owners. Marwan and fadia are the most loving hosts you can encounter. The house is clean and big with a nice garden and view. The rooms are big and the house fits 8 guests in 4 rooms. Fadia makes amazinggggg foood. We had fwerigh with warak inab and kousa mehchi 😍😍😍. Mresty Guest House is located in the Upper Chouf and can be reached either from Mokhtara or from Maaser El Chouf.
