My five siblings and I traveled to Lebanon for the first time to trace our family roots. Our father's family was from Saghbine, so we started there. Rabih Awada, the hotel owner/manager was a complete delight. He treated us like family and went out of his way to personally escort us into town, translate conversations with various members of the community and made phone calls on our behalf. Because of his efforts we were able to meet our father's 84-year old first cousin. A thrill! As for the hotel, it is beautifully situated on the lake with spectacular views. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. Our room overlooked the lake with breathtaking views of the mountains! The staff was extremely hospitable, including the owner who went out of his way to help our family locate relatives. Each morning, the staff had a delicious breakfast displayed.
