I spent only one night at The hotel Lijo and was almost sorry the stay was so short. It is a modern and very cosy hotel, very clean, service is very pleasant and making you feel at home. I booked a single room, but got a family room (for the same price though), so I can say that if booked a room for a mom dad and a not too small child, it will be a very convenient arrangement with beds for adults downstairs and child’s bed upstairs in the attic. Though it was hot, hotel provides air conditioning and it is very well regulated and not too noisy. Noise is generally not a problem as the hotel is situated at the edge of the park, in quiet corner and still at the town centre. Windows of my room faced park and private residence area towards Minija River. Room is provided with shower, which is very good and spacious, though water takes time to warm. Breakfast is included into the room price. It is not very variable and there is no hot food (warm boiled eggs though), but the quality is superb – it was difficult to believe that such food is served at a hotel in a small provincial town in Lithuania. There is a bar and a restaurant at the hotel so it is possible to dine there too. I only tried their cheese cake, which was very good, though not stunning. Tea was very good, too, served in beautiful cups of modern design and… extremely uncomfortable. I would recommend changing them into something less elegant and...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel which is positioned in the centre of the quiet village of Gargzdai approximately 10 miles from the coastline of Klapeda and Palanga which is on the Baltic Sea.||||We stayed over for approximately 5 days during our one week’s sightseeing trip in Lithuania. We couldn’t have chosen a better place for the surrounding areas and attractions in the north of the country before spending our last two days in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.||||Trip Advisors beware; as the first two days we made a mistake at breakfast time. Only the basics which are laid out on a small table are included in the Bed & Breakfast price. When you sit down for breakfast you are given a menu which we ordered from, not realising and not told that items on the menu are at an extra cost!||||During the day, the breakfast restaurant area becomes a very well frequented meeting place for coffee and snacks with the locals. During the evening they serve food and afterwards it becomes once again a very sociable place as a drinking and nibbles bar. They also have to the rear of the hotel, an outside eating and drinking area.||||I would perhaps say this is the most popular meeting and socialising place in the village of Gargzdai.||||The hotel rooms are very basic whilst at the same time very clean and have a typical European or Alpine feel to them.||||I would have no difficulty in recommending this place to any...
