This is without doubt the worst hotel out of 10 I've stayed in in Lithuania. Starting with rooms, almost all rooms are in the attic, so you get extreme temperatures as there is no AC or even sufficient ventilation.
I got a room with just a very small window open to a loud street, so forget about some fresh air if you wish to sleep at night or work during the day. Even in the hottest days the bathroom heating is on... Breakfast is very poor and later on the hotel restaurant had me wait for 45 minutes for mediocre cepelins, even though there were no customers at all. The worst experience though, is the attitude of the staff. There was a very loud party at the hotel "bar" until at least 1:30 on Saturday night, even though the restaurant is open until 21:00. The lady at the reception did not even try to come up with a solution and said that I have to accept that since there is a bar downstairs. A bar or a club? Another lady on Monday did not see a problem either. I was not allowed to speak to the manager and was told to write a complaint, which I did. It might have been thrown away as there was no response.
One good thing is that one of the ladies at the reception was nice, but that is not enough for a second star....
Read morewe have been staying in hotels around Lithuania for well over 20 years, and durring this time there have been vast improvements in terms of service and quality, firstly in Vilnius and later throughout the country. On the negative side of things prices have skyrockeded in Vilnius, and because of the city's popularity with wall to wall tourism often the overall hotel product has deteriated in terms of value and service. This is not the case with this hotel, quite frankly I couldn't fault it,as well as the obvios things the place had a relaxing feel to it.On a practical level the rooms are clean and comfortable, the cafe menu is extensive and reasonably priced,(with a choice of a gothic style interior restaurant or outside solid wood cabanas in a garden setting) Parking is no problem and there is a large supermarket 100 m away. The staff are young and friendly and mostly speak English,as does the manageress Aurelia who is on reception. So I would...
Read moreWe stayed there for 1 night with group of friends during weekend. We all had diferent rooms, standard doubles are all of diferent layout, some of them seemed quirky. So take a look at the room before deciding. The best option seemed to take the deluxe double if not an issue to pay extra, nothing to complain at all. To make things better they could add small fridges and kettles to the rooms. ||Wifi worked perfectly. Reception stafff was very friendly and helpful. Secured parking on site. Breakfast included in the rate, ok and sufficient.||Across the street there is a big supermarket.||Hotel is conveniently located for overnight stay if going through Siauliai, the town centre is some 2 kms easy ride, and the famous Hill of Crosses is...
