We came here to enjoy the Mid Summer's Night Event, and had the same experience as others described. The event and the gardens were nice. But the room was not the luxury experience that we expected. Our room was tiny, with barely enough space for two people. The shower hose leaked and had very low pressure. Wifi was practically non-existent. For breakfast there was a choice of three options. (2 egg options and pancakes). The employees were very friendly, but this was no 4 or 5 star hotel luxury experience. After 6pm all staff left the hotel and you are on your own. We were told that there there was a restaurant in this hotel, but when we arrived, there was only a restaurant in the Millers House, which was rather poor quality. We felt the room was worth about half of what we paid at best||||The good news is that the city of Siauliai is only about 30 minutes away and there are several good dinner options there. Also, the Hill of Crosses is also about a half hour away and that is...
Read moreThe hotel customer service is unacceptable. People working at the hotel have no idea what hospitality industry means and do not meet minimal standards. It's no surprise that hotel has no guests during the busiest weekend in summer. Entrance to the hotel is guarded by the gate which then is protected by a lady who is dressed for the work in the field, has not showered in a week and is afraid to talk to people. She has no decision making power and is sending messages to whoever is making decisions. Entering the hotel is very similar story. The receptionist is there not greet but to tell you that you are not welcomed here. We asked to see the room and this sounded to him as something out of space. We were told that they do not give tours although we did not ask for one. Hearing the customer, trying to help, providing standard information, welcoming doesn't exist...
Read moreIf you simply must experience life in a 19th century Lithuanian manor house, this is the place for you. But be warned! This is no luxury experience, except for the price. When we— two couples “ of a certain age” – stayed here, there was no staff on hand after we were checked in—no one to help us lug our suitcases up a winding flight of stairs to the rooms on the second floor— no elevator in sight! The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. Although our rooms were spacious and looked out on a lovely green lawn, there are no screens on the windows and flies tend to accumulate—and then expire— all around—I had one moribund fly on my pillow! And the shower was very funky. On the plus side, the breakfast was tasty and ample. But all things considered, life in this manor house...
