The hotel grounds are really nice. The entrance looks very impressive and pompous. There is a deer pen (you can get some carrot pieces at reception) and stables. Mini SPA in the wain building.||The first thing we did, we explored the area, took some pictures. ||There was an option to get dressed in baroque style clothing as well (these are available all day long, just hanging on racks, quite a lot of them are actually damaged).||The SPA was fully booked, so we could get in only at midnight (apparently there is no actual closing time for it). Bubble bath was good, the abundance of chlorine made my eyes sting.||Since there was a wedding happening that evening, the staff was busy - what means the service was slow and hasty.||The bar/ restaurant staff speak very basic English, it might be a problem to explain your wishes. At least reception staff were proficient enough.||The dinner was quite good. The wine was served in room temperature, which I find quite unacceptable (ice cubes helped a bit, but not ideal).||The wedding party was going on till 1-2AM, but since we were located in the side building it was not that disturbing - not sure how it was for guests in central building though.||||The next day we went for the breakfast, it was ok. Was quite surprised to see buckwheat on the table, a nice touch! ||Afterwards we had some relaxing massages, one and a half hours each (one after another), at the wain building. I think that was my most favorite part there. For a change it was actually relaxing and gentle. The room itself is quite uninspiring, but I enjoyed the rain forest bird sound track.||The horse riding we skipped, since we saw that it would be just a "walking around the circle", which we found kind of boring.||||Overall it was ok, but there is a lot of room for...
Read moreit was fine. the room was good, but how much time do you want to spend in a room? appropriate amount of sockets, a reading light, several glasses for water (or else). ||||the SPA was average, it had a jacuzzi with several of its functions not performing and sauna which was perfectly fine and a thermos of lovely herbal tea. didn't like the plastic cups - they're not the best container for tea and what, like, we're going to steal actual mugs? maybe it's a safety issue there. but yeah. too much plastic consumption, not a fan.||||if you're into feeding animals (i am) you'll enjoy feeding the fallow deer, they're friendly enough. again, though, the restaurant might want to consider putting the carrots in a re-usable basket or some such, rather than a single use plastic bag.||||the dinner was fine, except if you get it along with some coupon deal, instead of choosing from the menu, you'll be given a list of 3 options for a main course, 3 options for a dessert and then a drink of your choice (including beer, wine, coffee, juice etc.), which is not ideal, especially if you're not notified beforehand, but that might be on the coupon provider, not the hotel itself. the desserts (we took carrot cake and curd dessert) were absolutely delicious.||||the breakfast was Good. best was the coffee, from a machine (as opposed to a thermos), unlimited re-ups, as far as i know. plenty of options for vegetarians, less so for vegans.||||all in all, a solid...
Read moreThe stay was quite nice, but a lot of small problems added up.
The room had poor ventilation and no AC, which, okay, we just opened a window, but, this goes to my next point:
The staff had no grasp on their guests. During the night, a large group of people were yelling and causing a lot of disturbances. Better yet, they lit up fireworks right next to the main guest house.
We had not been informed of any event when booking, and the fireworks could have really hurt someone, be it because of their proximity or noise (there were small children staying in the room next to ours, and I can only hope no one had PTSD or other such disorders).
The food was good but nothing to write home about, we waited for a while to get it despite being registered for dinner.
The same guests from the night before were incredibly rude during breakfast and were touching food and covers with their hands and even heads, using a deli meat umbrella as a hat. The staff did nothing about this.
Lack of a warning or even a small apology knocks off another star.
If you plan to go here, ask about events and dumbf*ckery on your date of visit, as they seem to not feel any accountability to tell you about...
