Hotel restaurant Golf de Clervuax — Hotel in Clervaux

Let me start with the fact that the hotels in this chain are supposed to be 4 and 5 stars... they certainly are not! The only good thing out of this stay was one lovely waitress, who was actually friendly and knew something about customer service.||||The hotel - Dated. The room was such a ridiculous design with the bed being under a slanted roof - literally hit our head on the ceiling - and the bed could have easily been put in another spot.||||Reception is only open until 17:30 - Have you known a 4-star hotel with a reception only open until 17:30?!||||No lift.||||The staff - So unfriendly and some downright rude. Actually couldn't believe it at some points. Guys, your staff 100% needs retraining in customer service for 4- and 5-star hotels!||||Asked for a baby bed - EUR 15 supplement. I'm ok with paying a supplement but that is really a rip-off for an 11-week-old baby!||||Asked to pay upon arrival - again, not normal practice in a 4-star hotel.||||There's no pool at this hotel, which is ok (although unclear in all communication) but then it's EUR 10 a person to swim in the hotel in the Hotel International. This should 100% be included if you're staying in one of their hotels.||||The food - In both the hotel and in the Rhino restaurant, just not up to standard. The mussels, which were the special at the Rhino, were literally inedible and the coffee was undrinkable.||Breakfast was cheap and definitely not up to standard.||You've got an empty restaurant and you're sitting people so close together for no reason at all, especially in these COVID times!||||We used the Luxembourg vouchers and were really looking forward to our night away but were really disappointed with it all and, in particular, with the attitude of the staff.||||We...

The staff has not been friendly They gave us the wrong room(which can happen no problem). When we came down that the wrong name was on the card they reacted annoyed. We where relocated to an other room then the roomkey didn’t work, again an annoyed and unfriendly reaction. I understand that is was busy in the restaurant but this was just a bit rude.. then in the evening we wanted to have a drink at the bar and we where quite rudely told that it was the last round. (Not a problem but it could have been said a bit more nice).

Rooms are clean, views are pretty, good parking possibilities, decent breakfast.

Could have been a great stay if the staff had been a bit more friendly. To bad, for this reason we are not...

Vor kurzem waren wir zu einem gemütlichen Samstagabend unter Freunden im Hotel-Restaurant du Golf de Clervaux essen. Wir waren alle durchweg positiv überrascht..||||Das Restaurant liegt auf einer Anhöhe und wir hatten das Glück einen Sitzplatz auf der Terrasse ergattern zu können, von wo man Richtung Norden eine atemberaubende Aussicht über die Täler des Öslings (Nördlicher Teil Luxemburgs) genießen kann. ||Zum Essen hatten wir uns einen Bürger mir würziger Zwiebelsoße und selbstgemachten Baked Potato Wedges bestellt. Das Fleisch war sehr saftig und auf den Punkt durchgebraten, auch die Beilagen waren ein Genuss. Im Laufe des Abends bestellten wir uns zum Essen eine Flasche Weißwein, welche in einem edlen Kübel mit Eis serviert wurde, was die ganze rustikal-gediegene Atmosphäre abrundete. ||||Obwohl im Restaurant und auf der Terrasse reger Betrieb herrschte war die Atmosphäre ruhig und entspannend. Der Service war von Anfang an zuvorkommend und sehr aufmerksam, beispielweise wurde vom Kellner stets bemerkt wenn sich die Weingläser leerten und er uns daraufhin anbot nachzuschenken, auch sonst wurde sich durchgehend um unser Wohlbefinden erkundigt. ||Sogar der Küchenchef informierte sich bei Gelegenheit persönlich ob wir einen schönen Abend haben und wie das essen war, zu all dem fand selbst der Hotel Manager ein paar Sekunden um uns guten Appetit zu wünschen was uns sehr beeindruckte. ||||Insgesamt war die Atmosphäre sehr familiär und freundlich, die Preise waren durchaus ok, wir hielten uns etwa zwei bis drei Stunden in dem Restaurant auf, dabei haben wir es uns an nichts fehlen lassen, am Ende hatten wir pro Kopf nicht mehr als 50euro zu bezahlen, was wir als absolut fair empfanden für das was man in punkto Essen, Aussicht uns Service geboten bekommt.
