We spent 1 night here on September 12 booked through Booking.com. The rate I paid was USD 73. They do take credit card as payment. There are only 3 rooms here and we were allocated the Kanto room. We were the only people staying there that night.||||We arrived at the hotel at 3 pm. The outside doesn't look like much but the inside is nice and very well decorated. You do have to climb several flights of stairs. From our room balcony you have great views of the lake. You also have the same views from the roof of the restaurant.||||The room had everything we needed - hair dryer, safe, AC, mosquito net (we didn't use this and didn't have an issue with mosquito bites but I did spot mosquitoes outside), flat panel TV, 1 medium bottle of complimentary water. There isn't a telephone in the room.||||The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. It only has a glass partition for the shower door and water does get all over the place. Also, the sink faucet is high up so that water is splashed everywhere as well. This bit was a little bothersome.||||WiFi was complimentary and it is fast.||||We had dinner downstairs. The menu was pretty extensive. There are meats and seafood but duck seems to be the item of choice. Most of the diners ordered the duck. ||||We ordered a cottage cheese appetizer (26500 Ar), shrimp entree (35000 Ar) - a bit on the salty side, duck (35000 Ar), 50 cl red wine (52500 Ar) and souffle for dessert (20500 Ar).||||Overall the food is great as well as the presentation. The atmosphere is nice as is the service.||||Breakfast was included in our stay. Because we were the only ones in the hotel, they set up a table for us. There was fruit, yogurt and bread. The chocolate croissant was very good. Service is good as well.||||Overall, this is a great little place. It is like staying with friends who make good food. The room is very comfortable and made for a great...
Read moreThis is a B&B with only 3 guest rooms above a restaurant with a patio. It's up on a hillside by the lake in a nice and quiet residential neighborhood and probably has the most beautiful view in and of Tana (however 15 min walk will put you in a busy area with shops and restaurants). All rooms have balconies - we booked a "deluxe room with balcony" which turned out to be the room in the middle (Kanto) with the largest balcony and most open view unobstructed by trees. The room itself is midsized with high ceilings, elegant decor, clean with large updated bathroom and good shower. Bed is comfortable with a mosquito net although we didn't need to use it. This is a place you could stay for a week or more and feel right at home. There's nothing more pleasant than sitting on the balcony and enjoy a drink or cup of tea. Having a restaurant right downstairs is convenient - had dinner there and the food was very good, well prepared and presented and quite reasonable for a casual fine dining experience. On Sunday they seem to have a brunch buffet with a most beautiful canapés spread. The included breakfast is straight continental with croissants, juice, fruit salad and coffee/tea. Wished they had a bit more than that - even just hard boiled eggs would have made things more perfect. Nevertheless it was very enjoyable having a leisurely breakfast on the patio. ||||Service was very good. The manager ordered us a private car when it's time to go to the airport - for the equivalent of $15 - and it was a car in clean and good condition (I'm noting this as you can't say that about most taxis in Tana - the one we took to get to this hotel was in such poor shape it almost couldn't make it...
Read moreThe accommodation had good comments, when we booked in internet, but for us it was even better than expected. The location is superb: in an upper part of the city overlooking lake Anosy, with all the Jacarandas around in bloom in November. We could enjoy it from the terrace of the restaurant, but also from the balcony of our suite.||All in all there are only 3 suites, but the place functions like a regular hotel. The main business as we saw must be the excellent restaurant attached to it, where we had all our three dinners (there is a separate entry for it at Tripadvisor). A simple, French style breakfast was served outdoors (in good weather): Croissants, Brioche, Jam, Butter, Fruit Juice and Eggs any way. The coffee was fine.||The suite was very aesthetical, as all the place. Enough storage space, good beds, a writing desk, sofa, balcony with table and chairs. A free bottle of water was offered. Mosquito net around the bed (but not needed).||With some electricity problems in town there is no A/C, just a ventilator on the desk, but we did not ned it anyway, nor a fridge, which was missing or shampoo/shower gel in...
