Domaine Manga Be — Hotel in Nosy Be

A resort on a quiet beach, away from the hustle of the busier towns of Nosy Be.||||The rooms and large and bright and promise much by Madagascan standards - air-con, in-room tea/coffee, 24 electric. Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving - there was a power cut every day and the resort had no generator, therefore, guests are charged mid-high end prices yet the resort delivers nothing in terms of service because they don't even have a back up generator - we had no electricity for our entire stay and the rooms were sweltering.||||The resort of this nature, in this country and in this price category simply must have a back up generator, there are no excuses.||||The restuarant had quite an international feel to its menu, with dishes from several Indian Ocean islands. However, we required vegetarian food and there were just 3 options - a hopeless offering for an isolated resort, with no other dining...

After reading previous reviews we did hesitate before going there, but we were assured power problems were a thing of the past, apparently a new generator has been installed for near-on a year now !! We were there in October 2012 & stayed for two weeks. We moved around after that to other spots, but must say that Manga Be was by far the best place we tried. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, the spot wonderful, the food very good & the staff delightful. Power cuts in Madagascar are frequent everywhere, but we experienced no inconvenience at Manga Be. Abbiamo soggiornato in questo resort per una decina di giorni con altri amici. Il posto è molto molto semplice, grazioso e tranquillo. È composto da diverse strutture alcune sul mare altre un po’ più dietro.|In ciascuna struttura ci sono più camere. Sono presenti camere molto ampie con cucina, alcune con terrazza altre con dehor. Altre sono semplici camere doppie.|In quelle nuove c’è l’aria condizionata, nelle altre ci sono dei ventilatori.|In generale sono pulite ma non sono dotate di phon e del necessario per la doccia (shampoo, ecc.).|La zona ristorante è affacciata sul mare ed è presente il Wi-Fi gratuito (non c’è nelle stanze).|Per quanto riguarda la colazione l’unica nota che si può fare è che quanto previsto nella formula B&B è poco varia: pane, burro, marmellata, the, caffè, latte e succo di frutta, tutti i giorni uguale. Se si vuole qualcosa di più come frutta fresca o omelette lo si deve pagare a parte.|Noi abbiamo usufruito del ristorante anche per alcuni pranzi e cene. In generale è tutto buono solo che anche in questo caso il menù è variato poco in 10 giorni. Sicuramente è molto comodo soprattutto dopo una giornata di escursioni, perché lungo la spiaggia non ci sono molte altre alternative (uno o due ristoranti).|Se volete un posto dove c’è un po’ più di scelta dovete spostarvi ad Ambatoloaka con un taxi o un tuk-tuk.|Il personale è gentile e disponibile.|Il mare davanti all’albergo non è un gran che, come nella maggioranza dell’isola di Nosy Be (escluse le altre isole, la più bella è quella di Andilana), ma la spiaggia comunque molto pulita, quando c’è la bassa marea, permette di passeggiare...
