We visited Borneo Jungle Adventure in may 2024. I must say it was an unforgettable experience! Really i can recommend Borneo Jungle adventure for 1000%! Let me tell a bit more. 1) rooms are well equipped, clean, there is hot water always! Rooms have many windows, protected from mosquitos, so you can leave it open for night for fresh air. 2) food was tasty, perfect! 3) you are staying for real in the middle of the jungle where you can reach only by boat, which is already interesting and exciting. 4) SERVICE is AMAZİNG! from start till end you feel that they take care of you like family! SPECİAL big thank you to LYNDA!!!! She was our guide , but not only guide, she was taking so good care of us that you feel she is your close relative, not just the guide. She is so professional, so kind , really, a couple of months passed, we still can't forget her! :) she made this experience special! Also she is so professional and confident in her responsibilities that you feel maximum comfortable and safe with her. To be honest I was a bit afraid to take ride on small boat on the river which is full of crocodiles, but when you see Lynda, you understand everything is under her control. She was with us always and this gave us a feeling of safety. İt was awesome, super, I can't find words to tell how great it was! We saw so many animals and from so close distance! Elephants, huge crocodiles, proboscis monkey , birds, lizards, etc.

We had the most amazing 3 night stay at Borneo Jungle Adventure from the 19th-22nd February. We arrived at the jetty to be picked up by the boat back to the accommodation. I am generally quite anxious about being on small boats but I needn't have been. Kai our guide and our Captain (sorry Cap, we missed your name!) made me feel at ease. We arrived to a warm greeting from Grace and Dingkai and all the staff made us feel cared for and welcomed. Dingkai is an amazing cook, and she catered beautifully for our vegan dietary requirements. Because of the recent devastating floods in Borneo, we were unable to do the night walks but that didn't matter to us as nature is often unpredictable. The water started receding in our time there and I suspect will be back to normal quickly. We still went on all of the river cruises and did an extra night cruise. We were incredibly lucky to see all of the 'Big 5', plus many more. The rooms are basic, but reasonably comfortable, you really aren't there for the rooms anyway, you're there for the adventure and adventure you will get! Kai was a great guide with a wealth of knowledge, a great sense of humour and an experienced protector of breakfasts from the cheeky Macaques who drop in! We had the most incredible stay and frankly didn't feel ready to leave! Thank you Kai, Dingkai, Grace, Captain and Franco the cat for being the best!

Immersing oneself in the wonders of wildlife at the Borneo Jungle Adventure Lodge offers an unparalleled experience. Nestled right along the riverbanks, this camp becomes a habitat unto itself, teeming with captivating creatures, such as proboscis monkeys, colossal monitor lizards, and a rich assortment of avian species. It's a genuine jungle odyssey! Our guide skillfully guided us on boat excursions and through the dense jungle trails, unveiling the mesmerizing sights of orangutans, majestic elephants, elusive snakes, and a vibrant tapestry of birdlife. The wildlife encounters were nothing short of extraordinary. The accommodations are delightfully unpretentious, perfectly suited to its pristine jungle setting. As one would expect, the lodging is modest, but this is part of its charm and authenticity. The true revelation, however, is the food – expertly prepared by the lodge's dedicated staff, it's a scrumptious feast of home-cooked delights. The staff members are a warm and welcoming bunch, exuding a genuine sense of hospitality that instantly puts you at ease. Linda, our tour guide, was a wealth of knowledge, regaling us with insights into the local flora, the habits of the resident animals, and much more. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for those seeking a genuine jungle immersion and an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life!

I chose Borneo Jungle Adventure due to all the positive reviews . Quite frankly I think people are being over generous. Positive -pick up/drop| - animal/nature cruises |Negatives - room basic and covered in a layer of black mould likely due to the dampness pervading from the bathroom|- bathroom smelled very strongly of a bag of urinal blocks that were obviously trying to hide the smell of drains|-drains in shower and bathroom floor covered by house bricks |-no toiletries provided as was claimed on booking|- no cleaning of room during entire stay including the bathroom bin which was overflowing with used toilet paper as per hotel instructions |- surrounding area very illkempt with discarded rubbish and building materials - not a jungle oasis |- food was Malaysian but very few options and what was provided was not sufficient quantity - only one course and watermelon every day |- hotel says wifi available everywhere but only in communal area - rooms have no wifi nor data |- communal areas lacking in sufficient comfortable seating and rooms too hot and damp to sit in .|- although the trips were pretty good they charge extra for trips - if you want to see the elephants they won’t take you unless you pay £70 extra each even though it is near the lodge… they originally said it was 400 ringgit per group but on check out it was each … clearly just a money grab! I paid nearly £900 for a two night trip in family room , expensive for what was provided and £280 in extras ( night walk and elephant tour) |. The night walk was through a flooded, muddy area of ground with water over the height of wellies and we saw two stick insects and what may or may not have been a micro frog |- as a native English speaker even I found the guide very difficult to understand especially over the noise of an outboard motor |I don’t usually provide reviews but I thought considering how misled I was by reviews I felt I ought to set the record straight. Other guests staying at the same time shared the same views. Check out the Hornbill Lodge, it...

My friend and I had a wonderful experience at Borneo Jungle Adventure. We stayed 4 days and 3 nights. This was a great all inclusive deal. We came to see the Orangutans but got so much more. We got the airport transfer which was included and three full buffet meals a day, plus our lodging and then two boat tours a day. Khai was an excellent guide and birder. He made sure that we saw the Borneo Big Five. Grace was a wonderful and friendly receptionist and Dinki was a fantastic cook. They sold beer and soft drinks for a little extra. Each morning at 6:30 we departed on a boat safari looking for elephants, birds, orangutans and whatever else they could find. We would come back and enjoy our breakfast and then relax with the other guests of the lodge. Each evening around 4:30 we would go on another boat safari to a different location along the Kinabatangan River. Other activities included a night boat ride where we saw owls and some other cool stuff, a walk around the tiny village to see the true river people’s life and a jungle walk in the afternoon with big boots on. On our last evening the hotel brought in the Rice Wine and Karaoke, we had a ball dancing and singing with everyone.|Our room did not have air conditioning but it was large and clean and had a big fan. We actually slept fine at night because it cooled off just enough with our window open. We paid US $375 for all of these and we thought it was fair and a great deal. We had such a great time we tipped everyone including the boat drivers for a wonderful Jungle...
