We had a perfect time at Eaglebay Retreat. It’s truly an undisturbed paradise. You have an entire house and hundreds of meters of coastline all to yourself. Every morning, you can wake up in the sunshine and decide whether to go snorkeling or just relax in the sun—you have the choice. The sunsets were always perfect, and experiencing them on a paddleboard is far better than being in a crowded place like KK.At the same time, the retreat offers a wide range of activities that are both rich and reasonably priced—paddleboarding, jet skiing, kayaking, and more, so you’ll never feel bored.During our stay, Arlyn and h is family provided us with everything we needed: they inflated our paddleboards, helped us arrange sea activities, climbed trees to pick coconuts for us, and prepared delicious meals. Whenever we needed them, they were always available, without intruding on our privacy. Their presence was always perfectly balanced.I would also like to thank Faizal, who did a lot of work before our arrival, and Jamri, the kind lady who helped us recover our lost Apple Pencil during our stay. She assisted in finding it, came up with several ways to return it (considering Eaglebay Retreat’s remote location), and finally delivered it to my friend personally, asking for nothing in return. A hidden gem in Sikuati Kudat. Eagle Bay Retreat is a beachside retreat located in Sikuati Kudat, a mere 2 hours plus from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

There are 2 villas, the larger one houses 6 rooms which can accommodate 12 people(or more) and the smaller building has 4 rooms. The rooms are large and fully air conditioned, the bathroom has a shower and linens/towels are provided. There are washing machines in the laundry room on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove and microwave and large refrigerator, adjoined by a spacious open living/dining area. You can cook your own meals in the kitchen or order meals prepared by the staff.

The beach is exclusive, quiet with a beautiful and pristine shoreline. The sound of welcoming waves instills a sense of peace and tranquility; allowing you to unwind, relax or simply fall asleep. A perfect place for zen time. There are 3 buggies for rent if you want to drive along the shoreline.

Wir sind als Gruppe angereist und vorher schon 2 Wochen in verschiedenen Städten und Unterkünften gewesen. Eagle Bay Retreat Beach sollte den Abschluss bilden. Und es wirkte im Vergleich zur vorangegangenen Reise wie ein kleines Paradies. Wir haben überfüllte Städte, gute Hotels, weniger gute und schlechte Unterkünfte kennengelernt und - ja, Asien ist nicht Europa und man muss das auch akzeptieren. Aber hier empfing uns einfach nur Ruhe, eine Villa welche im Vergleich Luxus, auch etwas im europäischen Stil, verströmt -zwischen Palmen, Strand und Meer. Im Mittelpunkt des Hauses - übrigens durchdacht gebaut wegen der Belüftung - ein Gemeinschaftsraum, offen mit Blick zum Meer, Terrasse, hoch gelegen wegen den gelegentlich unvermeidbaren Unwettern und damit natürlich auch sehr guter Aussicht und der Küche, welche man selbst nutzen kann oder wie bei uns - durch die ansässige einheimische Familie betrieben wird. Diese ist äußerst freundlich und Arlyn und Adzmie haben sich ganz toll um uns gekümmert. Umliegend zum Gemeinschaftsraum die Gästezimmer. Diese sind wirklich ein kleiner Traum - sehr schön eingerichtet, SAUBER und bequem mit Panoramafenstern. Da das Paradies jedoch wirklich weit ab der Zivilisation ist (2 Stunden Autofahrt vom Flughafen, mindestens) gibt es einen Shuttleservice. Gut, wir hatten einen Mietwagen und das hat auch geholfen, da wir auch etwas von der Umgebung sehen wollten und die nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit 45 Minuten Autofahrt weg ist. Ja, der Strand ist Kilometerweit und Menschenleer. Man hat viele Spielzeuge zur Verfügung - Quad, Motorboot, Schwimmutensilien, Standup-Bretter und vieles mehr. Schnorchelausrüstung inbegriffen. Leider sind die Korallenbänke abgestorben, was an der Umweltverschmutzung in Asien liegt. Täglich angepülter Müll wird vom Personal zumindest im zugehörigen Strandabschnitt immer beräumt. Kurz - eine Anlage mit Herzblut gebaut, mit Liebe betrieben und traumhaft gelegen. Für die äußeren Einflüsse kann da niemand etwas....
