Felda Residence Sahabat, Lahad Datu — Hotel in Borneo

If anyone would come here is for a conference. Except for the peacefullness, with the location and no other means of transport into the resort, you can only rely on the hotel for food, although there is one small eatery available within walking distance. The a/c in my room were freezing cold as it was switched to the lowest temperature and its remote would not work. Bed is not the cleanest as there are stains, shower screen is missing, and the nicest thing i found during my stay was their brand new soft shower towels which smells very good. The beach is fenced from the resort for security reasons I guess but it just feel funny for a seaside resort. Breakfast selection is also very limited, lunch is always fixed and not buffet style, as well as dinner. Not a typical seaside...

It was a pretty awful place to stay. There was no hot water, and when I tried to call the reception to let them know, the phone did not work. After having a cold shower, I went to the hotel counter to ask, and the staff were pretty nonchalant about it, saying that certain rooms simply didn't have hot water. The room is dirty; the furnishings are stained and old-looking. The television didn't work too - didn't bother asking the staff for help, because it would probably have meant another meaningless trip to the reception counter.
