Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. However, there were a few areas that could easily be improved.

First the good: the view here is just spectacular. It is cool and breezy in the mountains and the restaurant is open to the most incredible view out over the hills and the city. It's beautiful night and day. Our room had a lovely patio with a small table and chairs overlooking the same amazing view.

The room was very comfortable especially the bed - my best sleep in Borneo. The shower was great, good water pressure and hot water. The bathroom was much cleaner and more modern than anywhere else we stayed. Similarly, the common space in the restaurant was beautiful and clean, including the bathrooms.

The bad: it was a bit of a nightmare getting here. The road is so steep and narrow. In the dark and the rain it was quite stressful. It is far from town and there is no way you could get a grab from here - you need to organize a ride in advance, or drive.

The cleanliness of the room could really be improved. Thought the bedding, towels, and bathroom seemed clean enough (most important things), the walls were quite filthy. So were the electrical outlets and switches - gross to even touch them. The room really needed a proper deep cleaning. There even appeared to be a tissue stuck to the ceiling (see photo) - was it plugging a hole? Squishing a bug and then left there? Who knows. The room also had many ants.

Finally, though we didn't try the food at dinner, our breakfast was not good. We ordered the American breakfast (other options are fried rice or fried noodles). This was toast with butter and jam, eggs, beans, and sausages with coffee or tea. The toast was fine though there was not enough butter or jam. The eggs were drastically undercooked. I know that people eat their eggs less cooked in Malaysia than north america which is fine, but it would be good to ask guests how they like their eggs. The whites were very raw and even cold. I wasn't able to eat them. The beans were very bad, and the sausages as well. Perhaps this is because they are not pork but I think a better quality chicken sausage must exist. In the end all I ate was the toast. I think it would be really easy to do better on the breakfast. For the price we paid, I'd expect at least enough butter and jam, and maybe some fruit or juice or both.

All in all it is a very beautiful place and...

I've read lots of reviews about this resort before booking a stay. All i can say is I'm very satisfied with the service. The room is clean & bathroom too. They provide everything, soap, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, towels..only a floor towel is missing. But when i requested for it, it was quickly delivered to our room. We parked our car at the side of the roads, just like everyone did, but we couldn't find a big rock to choke the back wheel (cos we see everyone did it cos the road is steep). So, we tried to ask one of the staff at the restaurant to help us to find a rock for our car, even though we're not confident that our request will be heard cos all the staffs were very busy at that time. But to our suprise, when we checked our car not too long after, they already put the rocks there. The food at the restaurant was delicious & i think the prices are reasonable. At night, we really enjoyed the view from our room. You can see the whole city & the night lights view is amazing. We don't mind the bugs cos yea we expected them as the resort is near to nature. In fact our kids enjoyed looking at the nite creatures especially the fireflies. Surprisingly, there's no mosquito at all. The breakfast was simple, there were fried noodles, fried rice, fried eggs, sausage, baked beans, bread & toaster provided, coffee & tea. The fried noodle was tasty. When we arrived for breakfast, some of the food were finished but was quickly replenished. So, all i wanna say is please give this place a try. Some of the reviews are not agreeable for me. The staffs are really trying their best. If you need anything, please just ask from them & don't just simply give bad review when u didn't get what...

I was stayed here at room 103 on 29th Dec with my husband. The receptionist staff are very friendly and our checking room processed was not take a long hour for waiting. Then, the welcoming drink is very delicious and make us feel relaxed. After that, we went to the rabbit section and ks giant swing to take a photo. On evening, we stayed at the cloud9 restaurant enjoying our ice mint tea. Food are very delicious and exotic. I really like the cantonese seafood noodle taste during our dinner time and nasi goreng but the salted fish are tasted weird and not fresh. We just ordered from the room service lol. We really enjoy!! Btw, all the staff from receptionist, to the restaurants staff and all KSR staff are very polite and friendly. I couldn't remember their name. But here have another things that I could said that the wifi at the resort was not working maybe the network problem. Then, too many red ant at our bed. Management should do something to prevent the red ant at the room because it is very dangerous if any guest bitten. By the way, overall our holiday was great and excellent!!! Hope we will come back again for future. Thanks KSR team! you guys are...

Place Need Regular Maintenance and Refurnish Went for an overnight stay on 27 December 2024 with family. (its our second time) The place looks more rundown than we visited in the past. Walking on the restaurant floor seems very risky and dangerous as some of the wood begins to soften and may break any second. As for the rooms , one of our room are not given any towels. Upon requested from the staff, they mentioned that it will be subject to availability and will send to the room if there's any. Which I find it weird.. as there are not a lot of people staying on that day but they ran out of towels.. Additionally , our rooms hot water is not even hot nor warm. But what I love from my stay was the friendliness of the staff , they made us feel very welcome and their services are great. Also not to mentioned the view during sunset and night. It was breathtaking. I believe this place can be the next Kokol Haven if they decide to maintain and refurnish it. And I'll be glad to visit it again.

This review is for the property. Was here with a small group for wellness retreat (Sept 2024). The scenery around the resort is beautiful; from the resort you can view both sun rise & sun set. The morning air is fresh too ( well at least compared to city ). Ok here are the main points: - if you are not ok with stairs; skip this place! Too many stairs & they are VERY STEEP. - amenities are very basic, towels look very old - you need be creative to improvise hanging rack to put your toiletries in the bathroom - drainage also very slow from shower area - room alot of bugs, few of our participants room has πŸ¦ŽπŸ•·οΈπŸͺ³πŸœπŸͺ²πŸ¦ŸπŸ› in their rooms ( this is definitely a place for the eco nature living lovers ) - no aircon in resort - WiFi very weak - also needs tell the counter you need housekeeping :( Staff here are very friendly & polite :) Food was ok but the setting:( Everything is just so dusty & old They need a total makeover !
