TLDR: this place offer you clean, safe and beautiful stay. But dont bring old citizen or someone who have leg/feet problem.
THE GOOD
So, we had a day trip family picnic in the Sulap. The area is spacious that can fit 20 pax comfortably. The sulap itself is fenced with high raised bamboo wall. Slightly higher than waist 175cm person.
The floor is cemented and clean. It also has ceiling fan that cool us down from the sun and barbeque heat. Got few wall socket, so you can charge or use appliances if you bring any. Guests can also lie down on bamboo bed built in the sulap.
Next, the environment. It is very well maintained. Grass is short. Suitable to lay a mat. Toilet, kitchen and other area is clean. I can see staff clean the area consistently.
Other thing would be the safety, so the bos who was around, (Watson if Im not mistaken), that we would dip in the river. So he put a safety rope across the river for safety measure.
There are 2 staff actually attending us, theyre both very attentive and helpful during our stay.

THE BAD (bad level 2/5)
Booking, reply is quite slow but all my questions were answered. And maybe the staff who took our booking was busy so he miscalculate our total payment. And I didnt check before making payment, so also my fault.
Parking. Youre in kampung area. There is no designated parking space. You kinda park wherever that you think wouldnt block someone car/entrance.
Unknowing staff, I dont quite sure how Eco Tours and on site staff work. But, I dont think we’re welcome. The staff doesnt know our arrival. Guests need to guess how to there.
The 3.5 minutes walk, (maybe only applicable to old citizen or someone who have health issue). For younger guests, it was an adventure. The view was splendid. But for them, it was excrutiating, especially the climb when youre going back to your car.

Read morei have to admit that when i first found out there would be no mobile reception and TV i was worried on how to keep a 2 and 6 year old entertained! but i decided that i needed to breakaway from that connectivity and reconnect without these technology devices. ||||upon reaching the area, we crossed a suspension / hanging bridge. the kids found that amusing. then when they descended from the bridge, they ran around like wild chickens. ||||when we approached the fig tree i was actually impressed how compact yet complete it was. we decided to do half and half for food - cook and also enjoy the local dishes which could be ordered. ||||we went to the river for a dip, fed the fish in the pond, played with the local musical instruments, did a slight trek in vain to find a buffalo (don't make promises you can't keep to kids - so i learnt). we found the village buffaloes bathing in mud and owh gosh the kids were ecstatic. ||||at night, we had an early dinner. Helenna (who prepared our food) and Aryl (our guide) stayed on to play and chat with us and the kids. by 9pm, we called it a night. ||||the area is so calming and it really did give me a sense of peace. ||||would i return?||yes. ||||how would i vacay there again?||with friends! ||||Imagine having a private space all to yourself and friends, BBQing and just enjoying the night. ||||Now there are only 2 rooms, but you can camps comfortable in the shaded area. ||||I would also have done Quad Biking but didn't have enough time for that. ||||breakaway and get away. ||here at the...
Read moreWe showed up without being expected and they manage to host a visit for us in a very diligent way ..this is the nice part |Because of the non expected visit no lunch was ready but that was king of our fault |They organize a few activities - rice grinding , pipe blowing and we went on a short tour to the owner village. Nice but nothing extraordinary over 30 minutes. |I had asked before how we will be charged and were told you will see upon arrival at the village. Warm welcome by the family with fruits, music and dance and photos. Then the owner asked st which hotel we stayed and looked at my wife’s bracelet and was preparing the move to charge us big time, all this with a big smile of course |125 ringgits for each person !! - we were 3. |We paid as we did not want to create any concern and even though we appreciate we have a higher standard of living in Europe, this was just outrageous for Borneo (plus we had to pay for our own transportation). This guy is a crook , do not go there and better spend your money somewhere else. I am sure all is business is run the same way. Good thing we had better experience with other Borneo people who did not only see us as wallets on...
