I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kokol Haven Resort and I must say, it was a truly memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning beauty of the surrounding area. However, I must mention that the resort is situated on a hill, so the roads leading up to it are quite steep. While this might be a minor inconvenience for some, the breathtaking views that awaited me at the top made it all worthwhile.

Speaking of views, they were absolutely breathtaking. The resort overlooks a picturesque landscape that stretches as far as the eye can see. I found myself spending hours on the balcony, simply soaking in the natural beauty and tranquility of the place. The air was incredibly fresh and invigorating, and it truly felt like a haven nestled amidst nature.

I did encounter a slight issue with flies during the night, which prompted me to close the balcony. While this was a minor inconvenience, it didn't dampen my overall experience at the resort. The staff at Kokol Haven Resort provided excellent customer service throughout my stay. They were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries I had. Their professionalism and hospitality truly enhanced my stay.

One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast experience. Not only was the food delicious and varied, but the view from the breakfast area was simply out of this world. I felt like I was dining in the midst of a million-dollar view. The combination of a scrumptious meal and breathtaking scenery created a truly magical start to each day.

All in all, I highly recommend Kokol Haven Resort to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. Despite the steep roads and occasional flies, the resort's stunning views, fresh air, and excellent customer service make it a destination worth visiting. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and grateful for the opportunity to experience such...

Had a lovely weekend stay in this hotel for a club AGM. The hill resort is about an hour from the airport and we arrived to a welcoming staff from the hotel. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our check-in was quick and efficient. Our hotel room was in a separate building from the main hotel but there was a buggy service to take us to rooms. We were transported to our rooms very efficiently about five minutes away. We had a family deluxe room which had had a king size bed and a loft which had a two big mattress which would be fun for a family with children. The stairs are rather narrow so a safety gate on top of the staircase would be good. The room also had a good size balcony for watching the sun set and sun rise and also beautiful view of the mountains and blue sky. Basic hotel amenities were available and the bathroom has a rain shower and no bathtub. The room was cleaned everyday and bottled water and tea n coffee replenished. As we were there on a special function the food we had was specially catered for our group. On average the food was average, and the breakfast was also average. Unable to comment the food served in the hotel restaurant as we were in a group and did not eat in the restaurant. There is no restaurant or eateries near the resort and you would have to take a grab car if you needed to go downtown for the many shopping centres and restaurant that served very delicious seafood and local cuisine.||Our friend had a deluxe room and is the same as the family deluxe room except they don't have the loft.||There are jungle tracks, hiking, children play areas, the concierge will be able to advise the guests of all the facilities available.||The hill hotel is really nice for a relaxing holiday and Kota Kinabalu has many attractions for the...

If you’re looking for a relaxing escape with jaw-dropping views and the perfect setting for stunning photos, Kokol Haven Resort is the place to be. I recently visited for a short getaway, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Sabah.

The view from the resort is absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset. From the highland perch, you get a full panoramic view of Kota Kinabalu city, the islands beyond, and the sun dipping into the horizon. As the sky changes colors — from soft orange to deep purple — the scenery becomes magical. It's the kind of moment you just want to pause and enjoy fully.

The resort itself is designed with aesthetics in mind. Almost every corner is Instagram-worthy, with cozy seating areas, hanging lights, swings, and glass-paneled viewpoints. Whether you're a casual visitor or a serious content creator, this place offers endless photo opportunities— morning mist shots, golden hour selfies, or night views with city lights below.

After soaking in the view, we enjoyed some light snacks and beverages at their café. The coffee was aromatic and satisfying, and the homemade cakes were delicious. Their signature drinks are refreshing and beautifully served — perfect for sipping while admiring the scenery. Prices were fair considering the quality and location.

The staff were also friendly and helpful, adding to the warm atmosphere. Whether you're coming for a day trip or staying overnight, the peaceful environment and cool breeze make it worth the journey.

Overall, Kokol Haven Resort is a 5-star gem for sunset lovers, photo enthusiasts, and anyone needing a scenic retreat. Highly recommended for couples, families, or solo travelers looking to...

Kokol Haven Resort is a nice place to hang out and a lovely spot to take pictures since its location offers a nice sunset view of the city. My second visit here. We didn’t stay at their resort, just dropped by to hang out. RM10 per person was charged upon entry (as attached). UNFORTUNATELY; We are disappointed by the service they offer, previously with the RM10 entrance fees charged we were able to redeem food or beverage at the restaurant (we use it as a coupon to buy any food or beverage on the menu). However, I believe with their recent terms update we no longer can use it as a coupon, they changed it by offering guests a complimentary drink ONLY (kindly, amend one of the terms in statement behind your entrance fees ticket, it can be misleading to others). If you decided to increase the entrance fees in the near future to sustain your business, you must at least provide your guests with better services. For instance, with the entrance fees charged, you may serve guests with a simple snack(e.g. sponge cake, fruits, or curry puff) and drinks (or provide guest with high tea menu). The taste and price of the foods at the restaurant are not acceptable. We ordered their ‘kayangan’ fries for RM14. Perhaps, with that amount, we get a proper meal at any fast-food restaurant, right? I’m not sure how you guys claimed your place as a RESORT, where in reality it didn't meet the standard. A lovely location which needs a lot of maintenance and refurbishing. Apologies for the lengthy, feedback 🙏🏻

Today I went to Kokol Haven with my brother and my two kids. The entrance fees are RM10 for an adult and RM5 for children, but you can exchange them for drinks later on. The view was amazing, but I was disappointed with the cleanliness of their food. I ordered two beef burgers. The burgers were just fine and delicious, but the fries were overcooked. I also ordered 1 bowl of laksa for my 7-year-old daughter, and in the end, I was very shocked when she showed me there was big insect (I am not so sure it is langau or bee) inside the laksa soup, which she had already eaten almost half of. I want to complain directly, but I think it is no use since the laksa has already been eaten by my daughter, and there are many people there and the workers seem so busy. I only hope she's just fine, but now I'm very worried about her. I hope the management will look into this. Your resort is very beautiful, but please improve your food standards to suit your beautiful resort. And one more thing, there is so much rubbish on the floor, please clean it regularly since we also pay the entrance fee and service charge. These pieces of trash destroy the beautiful view. I'm so sorry, but this is my sincere complaint about your restaurant. Thanks

The rooms here are very nice, have a great view and can rival any in SE Asia. The grounds are beautiful and have a little something for everyone. On the down side the water takes awhile to heat up. Average 3 to 4 minutes. The television could be bigger and there is a definite need for better programming selection. National geographic and paramount are ok but more is needed. Being in such a nice place we were disappointed by the quality of food. Breakfast is terrible, one of the worst we’ve ever encountered. Lunch is not much better. They do give very generous portions and the presentation is nice enough but the quality and taste are not up to par. On the up side, the fries are seasoned which not enough people do and is much appreciated even if they were over cooked and crumbled when hit with a fork. The highlight was the mango cheesecake, very light and tasty. The carrot cake was ok and the chocolate less so, no one wanted to finish it. They use Tenom coffee which is a shame since there are so many better coffees available especially when changing 10.00 a cup (average) If they were to hire an actual chef this place would be one of the best and worth frequent visits.
