It was my first and unforgotten experience travelling by bus at night during Festive season. Who expected that Hari Raya falls on 2nd May? And so was I. I bought my bus ticket to Lahad Datu at Terminal Bus Inanam two days before. Since there was no more tickets sold from Sunday day till Monday. Buses were all full accept a third bus scheduled to travel at 8pm. So I have no other option and bought the ticket. The time I've waited had arrived. My daughter and her husband and child drove me to Inanam Terminal Bus. I rode the third bus feeling happy that soon I will be at my hometown. The bus started it's journey and the bus conductor came to me asked my destination place, I told him at Bandar Sri Perdana. Later I dozed off. It was in Telupid I was awakened. I began to think if the restaurant at Fajar and Bandar Sri Perdana opened as it was the 2nd day of Hari Raya. And just to confirm it, I searched from Google if Akbar Restaurant at Fajar Lahad Datu opened but sadly it was closed. And I searched for Rumpun Selera which was located at Bandar Sri Perdana opened but it was also closed. A deep feelings of worriness crept in my heart. I thought to myself, where should I go? I have no one to fetch me. My brother and sister already went to Kota Kinabalu. I imagine how I walk alone to my house which was far from the town or perhaps I sat infront of the closed restaurant in the cold night waiting until day light. And I have another option to wait outside the Perdana Police Station but were they on duty? My options left me unanswered. Then I remembered "My Inn Hotel". I searched Google the Hotel and it was opened. And fortunately the bus stopped at Vocational School, Segama and I hurriedly walked to the bus driver telling him to drop me at My Inn Hotel. The bus driver agreed. So I went back to my seat and Google back My Inn Hotel. I called and there was a voice of a man. I told him that I need to drop by since I have no one to fetch me. It was 2am in the morning. He told me they were closed and no more checked in allowed. I told him that I just want to wait there until morning. Then he understood my situation and told to come. I was so happy that I was permitted to wait there until morning. And the bus dropped me at the main road just accross My Inn Hotel. I took my luggage and bag pack and crossed the roads. I tried to find way to that hotel and luckily I saw a narrow path so I followed it was pedestrians shortcut to Survey Hypermarket beside My Inn Hotel. At last I reached the Hotel and there was a guy seated outside the hotel door. I said "Hello" and he asked me if I was the one that called him and I said "Yes" He invited me to wait at the Lobby and told me that there's a socket for mobile phone charging. We chatted a while and I went in. I looked at my watch it was another four hours till day light. I rested myself. Morning came, it was 5.30am. I looked outside through the glass door but decided to go out from there 15 minutes before six. I looked again my watch, it was fifteen minutes before six so I carried my luggage and back pack and walked to the reception. I thanked the staff for his kindness. And told him if we meet some other time, will have cup of coffee. I said goodbye to him and walked out the door. I really happy that I was allowed to wait in the Hotel. In my desperation at least there was a place where I can stay safe for few hours. I walked not far from Survey Hypermarket, in a distance I saw a taxi coming towards me. It stopped and the driver asked me where do I go. I told him that I was on my home. He asked him again if I checked in the Hotel. I said "No" I waited there till morning since nobody fetched me. So I asked him if he can drive me to my house. He nooded and he drove me to my house. At last "Home Sweet Home". Read moreI have very bad experience of booking until check out from this hotel (MY INN HOTEL - Lahad Datu).
1 . During my booking through the phone, the receptionist girl voice tone of not pleasant and she said that she will call back my handphone to give me a booking reference. But almost 2 hours, it’s since no return call from her until I manage to call Hotel Manager. Later, somebody from the hotel call me and give me the booking reference with no 14155.
2 . During my check in time, I've given my name and told the girl that i had booked. The girl looks like a blur . Than if given my booking reference no 14155. Surprisingly, that booking reference no 14155 not under my name is belonging to another person. But I am lucky, there are still rooms available during that time.
3 . On the same day, I had decided on send my clothing for laundry service for tomorrow (as stated the term condition that if clothing sent before 10:00am will receive at 6:00pm). I've called the front desk to inform my laundry as I'm not managing to call hotel housekeeping during that time. The front desk informs me that better for me to inform to morning shift front desk on my laundry matter.
4 . On the next morning before I go out around 8:00am, I inform to morning shift front desk regarding my clothing (laundry service). After I return back around 6:30pm , I notice my clothing still not return back . I've called front desks, she told me that my clothing collected from Department housekeeping around 11:00am. I've told her that tomorrow morning is my check out time, and I didn't expect this will be happening . She will inform housekeeping on the next day and keep demanding to send on 8:30am as I need to check out 7:30am. Later after hear my explanation, she said try to send around 8:00am.
5 . On the next day around 7:00am, I call the front desk to remind on this issue. 7:30am I when to the front desk, looking like no action taken from her . She told me need to wait until 8:30am. But end of get my clothing around 8:10am after frequent follow up .
Overall facilities and accommodation are very good but very disappointed on the Customer Service especially on Receptionist. Hopefully Hotel Management should do necessary action. This hotel had recommended from...
Read moreI stayed here for work purposes, and overall, it was an average but functional stay. The room was simple and suitable for working travelers, with a 40-inch TV offering several channels to watch.
The downside was the smell — the room had a slight mouldy and “old hotel” scent, and the wardrobe also carried an unpleasant odor. I ended up buying my own air freshener, which helped. The air conditioning unit was an older model, but it worked well and kept the room cold.
The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too soft for my liking. Iron and hair dryer were not provided in the room and had to be requested from the front desk.
On the positive side, the hotel’s location is excellent — very strategic, surrounded by many food options, and right beside a market, making it easy to buy daily necessities. At night, there’s some music from nearby establishments, which can be slightly disturbing, but it stops around 10 PM.
